| Post subject: | Busy weekend, knocked out some little jobs |
I had good weather for painting, sanding and drilling. I got a TON of 'little jobs' that had been sitting in drawers done. In addition to my other posts this morning I knocked these little jobs that don't really need their own posts. Job#1 - Refurb the $15 'camo' night raider. Scored a $15 night raider (camo version) that was absolutely kicked to crap. The drak finish was coming off the blade in multiple spots, the 'compass' (on camo version only) was full of air bubbles and didnt point north, and the sheath was dry to the point the rear button snap had rotted off and was missing. But I hit it with some paint to cover the camo and then I hit the blade with some gun oil and a dremel tool (with the pad similar to scotchbrite). This was the result. Looks kind of like the correct scalemead version this way so I slapped it on the wall! Attachment: Job#2 - Build a "battery" & Job #3 - replace the tip from a 4 barrel version to a one barrel belt tool I had the jacks in a drawer for more than a year. I was going to convert one of my 4-barrel belt tools into a smartgun battery, but decided to just buy a resin belt tool. I realized it was already solid resin, so it would be easier to attach the jacks (simply drill the hole), then I could take the single tip and use it on the 4-barrel tool. The plan worked splendidly. Attachment: Attachment: Job #4 & 5- Build my spat kit headset and welder. I dropped the ball here. I forgot to take pics. But I did complete them! job #6 - Paint my SA80 Attachment: All in all a great weekend. |

Figured I would start stripping it down then stash it there for safekeeping (and space planning) It will probably stay like that a while, though. I still have 3 fairly tough builds lined up in front of it plus with M56 Smart One, hunterkiller, and Chef's builds all going so well I don't feel a rush to dive in. I'll let them figure out the hard stuff while I sit back then just pirate their ideas septic wrote: Liking the painted SA80, that's a cool idea. Thanks. I kind of stole that idea from Willie. I saw a pic of his armory a while back and it always stuck with me. |
