Im gonna build a PPIG as the Wall is a little short on support weapons. Ive based my work on the already outstanding PPIG built by Kevin Burton, but there have been unavoidable changes made due to certain items being either unavailable or prohibitively expensive this side of the pond.

1. The pipe.

Image

This was a 4 inch PVC pipe used for air con ducting. I ordered a 1.5 meter length that I would cut down a bit, but they ended up delivering a pipe just over 2m in length. Hey ho, means Ive got a backup tube!

2. The pipe fixin's

Again, ducting. The emitter end is used to regulate air flow, and the back end is made from a reducer to take the duct from 6" to 4". All Ive done is take the screw cap from the front of the regulator and put it back in behind the support. Ill figure out something better looking when I get the chance. Right now Im concentrating on getting the damn thing done!

3. The frame components.

Low pressure water pipes, like for an aquarium or such. Kev Burton's PPIG (and the Technical Manual, I believe) has the PPIG battery mounted on an A.L.I.C.E frame. Theyre relatively rare over in the UK, and expensive when you do find one. And if I got my hands on one, itd be going on my VN airsoft loadout! SO Im improvising and building a backpack frame as follows:

4. Building the Frame

You can see how the frame will be built up of two sections like Ive made here, joined in the middle by two more struts.

The Jerry can Ive got for a battery also is a little smaller than expected, so theres room for a Viper large admin pouch on the lower rung. Means the PPIG gunner will became a water carrier for any creatures out and about. Speak of the devil

5. The Jerry can Battery.

Ive cut the front off of the Jerry can so I can rivet a piece of plain plastic over the hole. Itll make it look less like a jerry can and slightly more like a bit of electronic cit circa 1980s sci fi!
