Michael Biehn is coming to town. What do I get him to sign?

I had a cool art print of the APC that he signed, I'll try and get a pic later, but he signed that with Stay Frosty too. I wonder if he gets sick of being asked to put that down.

That is how I had him sign a pic as well. I'm not even particularly a fan of that line, but I froze! When it was my turn I couldnt think of anything else.

Whatever you do, don't have him sign the Hot Toys figure box. Those guys were not involved with the first round of Hot Toys Aliens figures in any way so the figures being made has rubbed some the wrong way. There is a funny image of a guy who had Biehn sign it (the guy may even be a member here but I have seen it on other forums). The guy is thrilled with a huge smile, the box is beautifully signed, and Biehn is stone-faced and bitter looking. Of course I hear he is often stone faced and bitter looking...

I had him sign my pic with "It's game time!"

Another memorable line he had was "Now all we need is a deck of cards" or "Remember short controlled bursts."

About him being stern-

Michael Biehn had a bad reputation over a few years back of being generally grumpy to hostile, and more often than not drunk at conventions.

However when the majority of us met him at D-Con in 2009, he had severely cleaned up his act and was a new person. When we attended his panel that year, listening to him speak the impression I got was that he is naturally introverted and a bit shy in public. This may be the reason for the stern/aloof behaviour, and possibly the reason he drank so much at cons- to try and loosen up.

At any rate, he really isn't like that anymore.

All the sudden, I have an altered KISS song going through my head.

"Michael Biehn is comin' to De-troit, rock city."

I met him a few months ago at a local con. He was friendly and easy going. I had him sign two items, The Neca two pack with "Eat This" written on it and the Hot Toys stand with "Stay Frosty" written on it. My buddy got his picture taken with him. Awesome experience!

Get your helmet signed, definitely. Like John Wayne signing helmets for Marines in Vietnam.

I just met him at Pensacon in Pensacola, FL. He was a total dick and completely sloshed for most of his time there. We went to see him as a group dressed as USCM and even a xeno. He refused to sign anything for us or even take pictures with us because, his exact words, 'I don't do characters from movies'.

I went back the next day to get my pulse rifle signed and he was still drunk. He could barely hold up the rifle to sign it.

As a reference, here is a pic of the group I was with.

Wow. That comes a little surprising and with the worst timing possible. Feel sorry for you experience. Are you sure he was drunk or just in a bad mood ?
I ask because as was shown with the last two short answers from him on the same con these kind of rumours on the internet spread like wildfire. Would not be nice if the same happened with your post...

Yes ! When he came to Belgium he signed mine without hesitation (as he took the bucks too ;-)) and I could even ask him to pose for a pic.
A true gentleman !

Wow  pretty sad story. As I mentioned in my previous post he was fine with me and could have a little tchit-tchat with him.
Maybe he partied too much after being approached by Neil Blomkamp :P

You do realise that he`s come out publicly as a dry alcoholic ?

He refused to sign props and turned down the cash? That's really hard to believe. They are there to make money, not hang out with fans. Did he turn down a picture or did he turn down a customer? Just because we costume doesn't mean we are entitled to stuff. I have seen this from different costuming groups and I have experienced this from both sides of the table.

A lot of celebrities do not like costumes because they cause crowds and block flows of people and all these celebrities are seeing is money. Then you have the costumes that have to adjust something and just set their gear on your table over your stuff. It sucks.

The video of him explaining it was (and maybe still is) on YouTube. That being said I don't want to put any negative spin here on what is an illness. I found him publicly standing up to that VERY courageous.

Still no excuse for behaving disrespectfully towards fans on a con though...

While costumed, he refused to do anything with us. At Pensacon, there was also a private photographer that was booking personal timeslots with celebrities for photos. We asked if he would prefer that and that we would pay extra. Again, he specifically told us 'no'.
