Got these guys in hand today.

Anyone else ever surprised by just how small a lot of this stuff is? Most of us have seen, held or even own the replicas, but I am continually shocked by just how little some things actually are in hand. I guess it is when you mostly see pictures you have this idea that these are 'rare' and 'important' things that are "larger than life". Then you get them! And your like....this little thing cost how much?

Anyways...

For those that have wondered how the T-28 flash units factor into the smartgun headset, you may recognize it better when you clip the little splitter into the flash and turn it around

Also nabbed one of these Matchbox transformer units. Funny, the shipping was literally 15x the cost of the item.

It is probably worth noting that this particular one was reported to have come off a "lane changer racer". I have seen these in a couple different colors so it may have been a fairly standard shell for a great many of matchbox race track sets (including, of course, the PowerTrack series referenced on the first page).

The First three photos are things i found for my helmet Bild, the other Parts i made.

Absolutely. All the pics of the 'found' items are welcome until every item has a visual aid to help identify them.

But the "made" items not so much
The purpose here is to help identify the real world 'found' (already existing items intended for other original uses) that people may find which served as the foundation or parts to the screen used props. Custom and scratch-built items are kind of the opposite of that theme (but those parts do look pretty good!! Is that real metal??)

I can't take all the credit for this one, chef is the one who id the part, but the rear grip of the smartgun is the Kawasaki KX125 clutch. I bought a clutch handle, and I have to concur. The other clutch is from the KZ750, which I originally thought was the handle. The top is the KX125, which has the correct bolts on the top of the clutch seen in production pictures.

It might not even be that one... It's damned close that's for sure.

I think Adam has a damned good lead on what it may actually be. He's waiting on delivery to be 100% certain.

It came in the mail today...I am now 100% officially a believer. I am 100% certain it is NOT a Kawasaki assembly. Expect a big update coming soon!

YAY! My first real contribution to this awesome thread!!

Apologies if it has been discovered in the past, but I found the "gyroscope" toy that sits in the Sulaco Mess Hall on the tables!

It is the "Westminster 2871 Revolving Cosmos Perpetual Motion Desktop Toy"!

I just found a few on ebay from different sellers, I grabbed one for $50 CAD shipped, but its much cheaper in the US!, No links, just search for the above :)

M56 Smartgun rear grip, from my extensive research, is from a 1976 Husqvarna ('Husky') Magura 360. Other year models from around the period may suffice as well. You need the brake lever, not the clutch lever...please see my M56 build thread for a more-detailed look!

By the way, I just want to be clear I have not abandoned the "Printable Checklist" plan. There is just so much getting added that it is hard to get it all one one easy to follow page.

Soon I will be updating it and almost certainly be splitting it into a 2 page document.
Page 1 will be "Marine" items. Page 2 will be "Civilian/Colony/other" items.

I think each prop should have it's own thread in the Archive.

Shoulder lamp

DS helmet

Motion Tracker

SG headset

etc.....

With stable photo links. :D

That could be fun and solve all the image problems. I could keep this "list of everything" but under each listing would be the link to its dedicated thread where stable images and more details are posted.

Even if there's a lot of photos, attaching them as a PDF to download instead of people saving a bunch if separate photos. Each post is limited to 5 file attachments so it would be a nice way around that.

If you need help with the PDFs let me know, I'm more than willing and happy to help!
