The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Ripley has been cloned once (in a silly movie and silly way), they can easily clone her again (maybe less silly and more bad ass). I for one would like to see Ripley in action again, suicide bomb belt and all.

I've been hearing unconfirmed reports that Biehn was asked about Alien 5 at pensecola con and he confirmed he has been approached for the project. I'll try to find an official interview to confirm.

Add to this Blomkamp has specifically said this won't be the clone Ripley from A:R. I agree it still could be a clone though, just not the same one. If we get confirmation on the Biehn-scene that would be ten kinds of awesome.

That interview was absolute gold. I love that Isolation got him thinking about the tech level of Alien/Aliens. I would really love to see his film match that, especially if there are going to be Marines in it.

I've just seen Chappie and really enjoyed it (unexpectedly).

Walked out with the feeling Alien 5 is in a safe pair of hands, but of course it's a different realm.

I saw it last night and really enjoyed it. Can't think of another director I'd rather have taking a stab at it.

Just to clarify: Is he writing and directing or just directing?

I think the term I've seen used everywhere is "developing". I'd assume that means he is on writing and directing duties.

I'm going to choose not to read into that too much as I've not seen Elysium or Chappie yet
