Post subject:  ALIEN: Jonesy's Crate; Part Identification Thread [Pictures]
First off, I want to thank and credit Ed "thefudds" for the photos of the crate in Bob Burns' collection. It is with his permission that I am able to post these here. I will be uploading them directly to AL, so will be reserving the next few posts while I upload them.

I started wondering if it would be possible to recreate this prop. Since I already have a few real parts ALIENS props coming along, I'd like to add some ALIEN ones to my collection. I wanted to do Jones' crate for awhile, and since I already have two cats and a Ripley suit, I figured it made the most sense!

Ed believes Terry Reed may have created this prop, but is not absolutely sure. This thread is for discussing who may have built it, what parts were used, and anything related. I don't know much about model building so I need all the help I can get!, Plus Jones' crate hasn't really been discussed at length yet that I can find.

In the last picture, I can see a part of the grill that's also on the tracking devices.

Wow, nice pictures gathered here.:)
Look very interesting, too.
Could be also a useable prop if you have a pet. :)

On the first look it seems like a all metal box and made out of a box for tools or indeed a case for pets.. But on the following pictures I suppose to see that the outer shell is probably made out of wood (plus real parts attached to it). This means it would be probably made for the film and it is not a found object.
Overall it is a great looking box I've never thought about that much.
