Post subject:  Personal Colonial Marine tin

I came up with this idea after seeing pictures of the tobacco tin Terry English made for Hudsons character but was never used. My thinking was each Marine would be used a "tin' of sorts to use as a heavy duty wallet. Some of the contents are standard issue while others are just random stuff a Marine might have on them.

Initially, I was going to paint this to look like the armor, just as Husdons tin was, but really, is that necessary? So I just painted it BB and left it at that.

The following are the contents of my personal tin.

The tin itself was made from an old Band-aids brand metal container from waaaaaaaaay back in the 80's! VINTAGE!
I put a dent in it to resemble a bullet deflection to give it some character as well as to make a point of conversation if I'm ever carrying it and want to have a little fun "in character".

Tools: Just some random stuff left over from furniture. The cylinder with the point is the Pulse Ignition unit seen in the Aliens magazine technical readout pages. PR round created by Matsuo.

Money: WY colony credits. I thought about making some futuristic money, but with no good grasp on what states/colonies/countries were part of the U.A. (or whatever it's called) I figured each planet or colony would have it's own money issued so that it could keep better control over the population and it's economy. These credits were created by board member Nolan (Thanks Nolan!)

Medicine: Just some average pre-packaged pain relievers and two containers of morphine. The morphine was actually just eye-drops, I created the label based on WWII morphine serette images.

Condiments: Again, pre-packed salt and pepper packs I had sitting around the house and a stick of gum. I created the gum wrapper and put it around a real stick of spearmint gum.

Cards: Various I.D.'s
-ICC issued power loader license (created by me)
-USS Catalpa (a ship of my own creation) boarding pass (created by me on clear label material and attached to a piece of blister packaging).
-USCM I.D. card (bought at a convention a long time ago)
-Power loader license (black and yellow with number 3) bought at a convention a long time ago.
-LV 426 "post card" (found on-line, creator unknown).

That's a great EU prop. I love all of the little details and nods.

I need to add the USS Catalpa to the ship's list. Is it a USCM ship?

It is a USCM ship, but not an "official" or cannon version. It's just one I came up with.

Catalpa was the street my grandparents lived on.

The 'list' includes plenty of fan made ships. Catalpa is now added.

You're one of my USCM heroes James, so it was a pleasure to kick ideas around! I'm totally going to make my own tin now!

Thank you all for the nice comments, you all made my day. :)

Yellowjacket, thanks for adding my ship to the list, I think my grandparents would like that.

That's a good question. I remember Nolan posted the file here years ago, and I have no idea what you would search under to find the thread.

I could email the file to you if you like.

Yes please.

Dockruzer@yahoo.com

You've given me an idea for really fleshing out my own marine. As well as sorting my own meds/supplies while in kit.
