The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

While I'm waiting for all the stuff I need, I want to make a quick fatigue uniform, I've got a set of semi faded and not to well matching Vietnam era sateens, and the 507 ballcap. The Sateen shirt is going to get a mandarin collar, soon. I just have 2 questions, what is the correct belt, and where do I get all the patches? (Sorry, pretty new to this)

The belt is a simple tan/khaki 1" webbing belt like this:

If your going for the Gorman look with your sateens, the belt is black leather 'garrison belt' with a basket weave imprint. (I believe he wore the same belt for his service Cs too)

The khaki belt, as PVB mentioned, was worn by everyone else in camo.

Apologies, I had no idea sateens were Service C type, thought it was a camo bdu.

Sateens are not "C" type according to that picture above, but the "OD" style. Camera
flash wreaks havoc with colors.

Well my sateens wont work (Horribly faded top and mint bottoms) Would the Ugly pickle suit Dura press uniform work? Pardon my ignorance but what other patches go on the Sateen/Durapress uniform, (the USCM screaming eagle, flag, the colonial marines rocker and what else?)

I used the OG 507's (1980's vintage) I think for my Gorman OD suit. Have to look again to be completely sure.
Been a while since I've looked at them.

Depends if you go all out with the jacket.

-Jacket had the sulaco patch (+ rocker under it), white border US flag and screaming eagle.

-Just the ODs then same patches only NO rocker under your Sulaco (or other ship) patch. No room really on the pocket anyways. The jacket pocket is larger.

The way I see it, you have 4 decent options for shirts. The OG507, OG106 "flyers" shirt, the OG107 jacket and the OG107 regular. Each will do in a pinch, yet none are perfect without a lot of work (details/ramblings near the end of the thread). I have yet to actually settle on one myself...

Well the 507 regulars are here and clean, I'm ordering all the USCM patches soon. The last thing is those name tapes, I remember there being a site that has the name tapes but it's lost to me. Thanks again for all the help.

Camotech is the site that does the nametapes. Super nice folks. I think they might have a $10 minimum now on orders, but it's never a bad idea to have a few spares. If you end up with a cover on your helmet then you'll want one for the back, plus another set for your Service-C's eventually. Then there's one for your duffle bag, another for your boxer shorts... 8)
