Post subject:  Other Kango drills? ... for the Motion Tracker

Somethings on my mind since a few days.. Is there another Kango drill from the 400 series which could also be the base for the Motion Tracker? I would like to convert an authentic drill before seeking for a casted base. Any suggestions?

The 327 and 422 should also work, but they have slightly different selector switches.

Thank you. That sounds good. It's still hard to find one but there's probably a better chance in finding one out of three, rather than finding the correct one.

Noble has a 426 for sale right now, actually.

Didn't know a 422 could work. Interesting.

Didn't knew this, too. But I thought they've probably the same bases for their drills within a series. I'm glad they didn't used the Binford 6100 series.. those are rare;)

Well, I think they would work. I don't see why they wouldn't.

That's awesome. They're probably cheaper, too.
Is the 426 definitive the screen used model?

Yeah, the screen-used props have the straighter selector switch that the 426 has.

There was an auction for a Kango 422 recently (sold for only 21.5 Euros), and one of the pictures showed that the 422 does have the right switch.

However, it seems like the trigger is different from the 426's (and I believe the prop's); it's got a "bump" in it. I wish we had better pictures of it.

I just saw this one on ebay. Is this what you are referring to? Thought I would share to the community. :-)

No, the one I posted already sold. I did see that one earlier; it's got the black box that Willie pointed out was used as set dressing in Hadley's Hope, but the trigger's wrong.

Actually, after looking at the pictures of the 422 again, it seems like that bump is just damage. However, I looked at some pictures of the MT on display at SDCC, and it looks way too bright to be a 422.

Here's some Kango 426 pictures for comparison.

It could just be a lighting thing, but all pictures I've seen of the 422 show it to be far darker.

After looking at some of Willie's pictures of the MT, it's pretty obvious they used Kango 426.

I have grabbed the Kango 422 of ebay. And you are right, the trigger is indeed damaged and slightly different from the 426.
But it is an awsome budget start for a motion tracker.

Indeed.
Great start at a fair price.
Thanks to Quarax for pointing all the facts for us. Top
