Is there any info that says when the Nostromo was christened...or whatever the first flight of a starship would be called?

I believe that she was refitted as a commercial towing vessel in 2116, but I don't know when she had her maiden voyage.

There's conflicting info out there. Interviews with Ridley at the time Alien was released had him saying the ship was quite old at that point (making it older than the Prometheus). Lee Brimmicombe-Wood gives a newer date in his Tech Manual. I can't remember if there's a date on Space Jockey's blueprints...

According to SJ's blueprints, the Nostromo was built during the years 2100 to 2103 and was licensed with the ICC in 2116.

I went through the Book of Alien and the Alien Vault and I couldn't find any hard information aside from SJ's plans. Although I did find reference for a two-page biography that Ridley wrote for each character on the Nostromo. I would love to read those. Charlie
