I agree no. I do not believe there is a big enough market to cover licence, tooling, workforce, and marketing. I would also question the Terry English molds. Maybe they meant access to screen used armor. This is just my opinion. Thanks! Greg |

I know they have Star Trek and now Star Wars. Our group does not even come close number wise. The price would have to be high for a quality set. Thanks! Greg |

A red flag went up with me, too, when I heard "Terry English moulds". John Riddell's original Alien War suits were made from moulds, cast from a screen-used set worn by Dietrich. But there's no such thing as "Original Terry English moulds". I'm interested myself to hear what Terry has to say about this. That said, Anovos do tend to make good stuff - I just hope that their moving into the Aliens market doesn't cause trouble for Spat and Chef! |

I don't think our community need any more armour makers. If Anovos want to make armour they can go their hardest. I doubt sales will ever justify licence and manufacturing cost. Added to that a paint job and shipping. May as well get it from Terry for about the same price. Anovos should stick to their jedi bath robes and spock tracksuits. |

That's the problem, though... If they do get the licence, they could very well go all heavy-handed and cause grief for anyone else who sells armour - Even Terry! |

Agreed its the Disney Star Wars thing lol, On a business point I can't see there being any long term gain for them buy up the licences |

Long term, maybe not so much, but if they get it for the short term and it doesnt expire that could be where the issue comes in. |

That is also my point. It is Alien 35th. Aliens will not be for a year and half. Maybe they want to cash in but I do not see the money there. Thanks! Greg |

It all boils down the money. I don't think these is a large enough market for USCM and without the fans wanting to shell-out a lot of money, they wouldn't gain anything from it. These types of things go through cycles with vendors. I'm very active in the Star Wars costuming community and have seen the previous waves of Rubies and then Museum Replica SW costumes come and go. Expensive items for "okay" quality. Neither of these vendors- nor LFL- went after the fandom vendors that create a lot of the communities source for armor. |

I spoke with the Anovos guys at length one night about this topic too. They were curious about the armor until i brought up how much goes into with assembly and painting and how each set differed from actor to actor. they seem very interested in the idea of soft items such as BDUs, Gorman's battle outfit, and maybe Nostromo clothes. Very early stages stuff. They also told me they had access to Terry English molds. personally the idea of armor would be crazy because how much detail they would have to put into it, which turns into the price skyrocketing. And if i want a screen accurate set, i can purchase them direct from the movie armorer himself, Terry. |

So mentioning Terry is either them blowing smoke or they're planning to sell recasts. Neither option makes me want to do business with them. |

I am worried about the clothing after seeing their current prices. |
