I've been reading reports about this on another board I visit. A rep from the company Our War/Hiya Toys has been posting updates on this for the last few months, as well as another 1:18th scale item they make, so I believe it's legit. ![]() ![]() No info when it will be available. They are currently in the painting phase as well as working on the design for the package. |

Neat! I'm bad with this sort of thing so could you give me a reference of what else is 1:18th scale? |

1:18th is what GI Joe, Star Wars, Marvel Universe and the like are considered (even though even those aren't truly 1:18th, but close). |

And before anyone asks, no, they currently don't have plans to do the Marines. Someone on the other board specifically asked...but it wasn't me. ![]() |

Pretty cool. It looks like a kind of expanded universe warrior with hybrid features from diff films (Legs from A:R, hips from AvP, Head from Aliens, arms/hands from Giger). I like that kind of thing. Some call an "idealized" version and others complain ruthlessly about how "inaccurate" it is, but to each there own. I guess it will be in scale with the Hot Toys snap kits then. Damn shame no affordable marines exist in that scale yet. |

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the ankle design, but it has enough to keep me interested. It does look like they mashed up features from various incarnations...I thought maybe it was from the new game? There are ways to DIY Marines, there is at least one guy who offered copies of the armor and weapons off the Hot Toys snap kit. But in the end, it probably isn't much cheaper than just buying the snap kit figures...and if you do buy the snap kits, you don't have to mess with all the painting and what-not. I guess it's a trade off. |

The head looks like the shorter AvP:R xeno's, the legs from A:R, tail from Alien and body from various versions. Way too small for my collection personally. |

So Neca, Diamond select, Mini-mates, the miniatures game on kickstarter, and now these guys are all jumping on the Aliens band wagon complete with Marines. Gotta love big anniversaries I guess. Reminds everyone of the cool and previously mostly untapped sales potential of the classics from yesteryear. |

Yeah, I'm hoping this goes well. I think the alien looks good enough, although the price point seems a bit steep. I hope that if and when they get to the Marines, that they go with the film look and not the game. |

They are up for preorder here: http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/sear ... ya%20alien Looks like they are colonial marines figures. I try to stay away from collecting all the different alien scales but I'll have to buy into this line if they are doing marines, queens and PWLs. but $20 for a 3 3/4" figure... ouch. |

$20 is def steep for a lil fella like that, sure. I guess it comes down to if you appreciate the scale. If you factor in the next best choice in that scale is to track down the old Hot Toys snap kit marines, then $20 seems like a bargain! If they do stick to the video game, I hope they don't get silly with their Marine figure character choices. |

1/18 is my favorite scale for action figures. A full line of figures based on Aliens would be one of my childhood dreams come true. But I'm not a big fan on the Colonial marines game. I'm sure if they would release marines, they would be the main characters from the game. Neca should hold the license for the alien trilogy right now, so I believe they can do only marines from the game. So it seems I'm not one step closer to a 1/18 aliens line with this. But thanks about the info. ...it would be so great. 1/18 would not only be a great scale for marines and aliens, but also for the power loader, Queen and APC. Drop Ship might be to big. |

Looks like the Spitter and the Boiler are up now. They used to be 19.99 but they raised the price to $22.99 They raised it on the older 2 to $22.99 as well. I have them pre-ordered at 19.99. Here's all 4 http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/menu ... m_content= |

Over on HISS & Dropshipbob no doubt has seen it, there is a custom HALO Pelican at 1/18th (its still wip), so Dropship USCM is most certainly feasible ![]() Alas I do not think we will see any of the Manufacturers take this project to the next level. If anything like the 1/20th APC, it will be a garage kit But Hey that Still is all possible. My big concern is their USCM figures. Film based? Game based? Or bastardised version? If it`s as detailed as the HOT TOYS Snap Kit Marines But more robust and dare I say Greater articulation, that alone is WIN. |

Yeah, I think I've seen that. A 1:18th dropship is do-able, but man would it take a lot of storage/display space |

I'm getting them. I have 2 in my pile of loot at bbts and waiting for the other 2 to be released. Hoping this line sees a lot more even if it's from the video game. |

They did an interview with one of the guys who owns the company. He said their aim is for Japanese figure level detail, combined with Star Wars figure durability, or something to that effect. I think he also mentioned the Colonial Marines would be game characters, but that discussions were still ongoing. I think the interview was posted on Hiss Tank as well, though I stumbled across it randomly a couple nights ago so I don't have a link. |
