The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

HI everyone I'm new here but thought I'd share a photo of my resin plaque that was made in Ironbridge along with the costumes for the robots in the alien war in the early 1990's. I believe it to be the original cast based on the Giger picture. Let me know what you think, I hope you like it.

It's amazing, so much detail. It would have been done in clay I believe originally and had the "pipework" bedded. It's about 50cm x 50cm so is pretty big. If I remember correctly the guy who made it had the surname Barrett-Brown (?) and he had worked on quite a lot of films (making one of the Batman costumes I believe), but I have never been able to getting anymore details.

I would love to find out more if anyone can help?

Many thanks for looking

I've added another photo to try and show it a little more three dimensionally.

The size is 51x47cm. I've had the offer of having it used to cast from but I don't want to risk any damage to it, I also like having what I believe is probably the only one. Did anyone ever get to Alien War? I hear they keep talking of re-opening it, or similar under a different name.

I went to it when I was a kid, scared the living Crap out of me! :-D

To see all of the original displays was a dream cone true.

Was stoked to hear that it was planning a return a few years ago, but this was a major let down in the end. They made it a non official aliens theme and cut all movie links.

I THINK these may have been sculpted by John Riddell for sale at Alien War Glasgow - Certainly, there was a little shop in Glasgow's Virginia Galleries around the time of Alien War's original run that had these, and similar items, for sale.

Great thanks, I'll contact them to see if they know anything. This was definitely made in Ironbridge though and was going to get thrown away, the guy there gave it to me and showed us the alien head costumes that were made of latex that would be fitted over the robots in alien war. I was under the impression at the time that these were being used as a tile within the entrance or above the door?

I have emailed The Quickening, so I'll wait to see if they can help with anything. The original work by HR Giger was called "Gigers Alien", thought I would share a copy of the original for referencing purposes only.
