The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I remember the hunt for all the Mt parts. I even had them all except the pump widget at one point, but then Master Replicas came out with their version that had lights and sound and I really wanted that. My version at the time wasn't going to have that without paying another $200+, so I sold all the parts INCLUDING the drill, and had enough to buy an MR version AND had a little extra left over.

I think if we can get some 3-d scans we can 3-d print some of these hard to get parts. Guess I will work on getting a setup for that. If we can get near replica parts we can help the community as a whole.

Better than 3D prints, you can get resin casts of all the original parts from either Spat or Nick-a-tron! These are way more accurate honestly.

My shoulder lamp base from Chef started life as a 3D model so I am certainly not against the concept though. When something is really rare there often isn't a better option!

These are so cool. Why don't we have motion trackers IRL yet?

In what sense?
Motion disturbance sensors
Particle disturbance sensors
X-ray through wall visual enhancement sensors
Distance sensors
Infrared detection sensors
LADAR

RADAR, LADAR, LIDAR all are equivalent technologies.

The problem we have is that such devices would not penetrate walls effectively to get pinpoint readings on moving objects on the other side. As presented in the movie with the gadets on the unit it is a Photo emitter particle disturbance sensor

Radar and xray technologies are very dangerous to work with with inadequate shielding.

X-RAY with Infrared is about as close as you can get. Not cheap and not small as of yet. Portable x-ray units require motorized assistance to move as it stands.

A USCM Motion Tracker is cool like a Jedi's lightsaber is cool. Don't worry about how it would work in reality.

Thanks to Bigbisont I was finally able to add the keypad from a Casio SL-85 calculator. This and adding the BB paint should finally be the end of this build!

That looks amazing !!! the keypad from a Casio SL-85 calculator is getting harder and harder to find. Glad you were finally able to finish the Motion Tracker off with it.

I currently have a decal, but I want the feel of a real keypad. I'm toying with the idea of finding a not-as -popular Casio SL-86 calculator keypad. Its the same size as the Casio SL-85, but the coloring is all wrong (black with white) instead of khaki buttons. And you lose the division (÷) button because of a double-sized plus (+) button. There is also a Casio SL-80 calculator, but its too large and overpowers the transformer.
