The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

So I am trying to finish my costume for ComicCon NY this year. Cammies are almost here, Armor is right behind them (Thanks Spat!). Got the pulse rifle, Name stencil from Mike (Thanks a bunch they look great). My dog tags (Thanks Armourer), all my patches and name tapes, pouches will be inbound shortly (thanks noble!), However, all I need now are Jungle Boots. I usually wear a 12W, from what I hear they run a size smaller? Not completely sure. I don't see the sizes I need on ebay plus the boots get expensive real quick. Does anyone know where I can find the size I need without overpaying? Any help would be great. Thanks a bunch.

With the boots it depends on what you are wanting, unfortunately the real 'vietnam' boots are going thru the roof price wise at the moment but you can still find them at a sensible price if you are patient, the 'post vietnam' boots are rising in price too.
If you dont mind them, the reproduction boots are cheaper but you definately get what you pay for quality wise.
Size wise jungle boots are very odd, they range thru xn, n, r, w, xw however the 'number' from my experience is accurate, if you are prepared to work at it abit there are ways to widen your boot size choices, i wear a 10w but a 10r is ok, i have just got a pair of unissued vietnam vibram in 10n, if you get a unissued pair they have alot of give and will stretch well, with the 10n i put them in hot water for half hour so they got well flooded then put them on wet (tight) then wore them till they dried out including a 5 mile walk, then repeated the next day, now they are like slippers!
as for the cost? i just got 2 pairs, both real unissued vietnam period boots, one pair vibram soles 10n, one pair panama soles 10w $80 shipped for both, that was off the bay of evil so the deals are still there to be found if you persevere

Good luck!

Remember to check your local surplus stores to "try-before-you-buy." Quite a few shops on Long Island and jungle boots are a commonly-stocked item.

If you want to get really specific about the Vietnam style, a quick visual check is they have an inch-long vertical seam on the heel.

All depends on what you're looking for--and paying for. Chinese-made/ROTHCO copies are $20-30, Nam-issue surplus used pairs can run you $100, and there are some really nice high-end new jungle boots out there that'll keep marching longer than your feet will!

I can tell you this much Vengenace, at least for me. Jungle Boots do run a size smaller I normally Wear a size 10 or 10.5 in chuck taylors(old school style converse) also a size 10 in running shoes. However I wear a size 9W in boots. Also I would suggest spending the extra money if you can and buy the no chinese knock offs. Everytime I wear mine(knock offs) I get blisters on my feet!

If you are looking for boots still, the army surplus by me sells jungle boots for about 30-40 USC. They are new boots and with two kinds of soles. If you are still having trouble finding any lemme know.
