Yes it is Nickatron. I started with that originally and put a lot of work into it. I have an HCG launcher I might use but I scaled my barrel vent to the airsoft launcher which is only a cm shorter than the HCG launcher. Also have another dillema with the way I first mounted the launcher to the thompson. The mounting plates are a little too wide so i either have to trim down the mounting plater or the shrouds. Also I will have to trim out where my barrel vent fits into th shroud.

When I built my second PR using Matt's shrouds, seen below, I had to do a lot of Dremel work to get my parts to fit. Study the parts, and cut carefully. I plan to use Matt's shrouds on my next PR.

These look very crisp indeed, niice! :)

Are these molded from the HCG shrouds? They show some distinct features which I only knew from the HCG.

Not sure about the HCG shrouds. They are pretty awesome though! I thought when I receved them I could just throw thep on paint em and done. Not so. Im using my own parts so I have to do some trimming of Matts shrouds. Dont really want to seems like sacrilage and not to mention the money for them. the front just above my gl dosent sit on the gl any suggestions how to fix?

Hi there - How are you getting on with your build? Any pictures? How much cutting have you had to do?

I'm pretty sure that Matsuo's shrouds are basically HCG ones (didn't Matsuo have a lot to do in the development if the HCG?)...

Anyway... I've just ordered a load of other parts for a hero build... They're SD studios parts... So I'm hoping they'll fit some Matsuo shrouds as I'm going to get an Aluminium shroud set from him...

Which counter have you got?

I'll be making my hero PR around an Airsoft Thompson and M870... Lots of work ahead!

Matt's shrouds are indeed HCG shrouds. Only difference is material but they are one and the same.

Beautiful pressy there....be sure to post the porn pics once she's done.

Matsuo does both metal and vac formed ones now I thought... I presumed the metal ones are indeed Aluminium?

The shrouds I receved are resin molded. I had some questions about the shrouds and what Matt told me was he molded them off a screen used pulse. The screen used ones were hand formed so they have slightly different lines than the HCG aluminum shrouds. I was going back and fourth about using the more accurate HCG launcher. My decision was made for me when I knocked the airsoft gl off my bench and on the concrete garage floor. The airsoft gl broke into several peices. I made new mounting brakets for the gl and also reused the front block and mounted it to the HCG launcher. Had to do a lot of grinding for it to fit! Ill post new pics soon.

Hi all
Got more work done on my pulse rifle. finall got the gl mounted how i wanted. Its very solid now. With Matsuos help realized my barrel vent is too tall. So i also had to rework how my barrel mounts to the thompson. Heres some progress pics!

Attachment:
image.jpg
image.jpg [ 871.15 KiB | Viewed 8134 times ]

What i did in the above pics was to attach a plate to the top of the gl, I the drilled two holes, threaded them and then added two screws. I then cut the heads off the screws an created studs.

The above pic shows the anchor point for the mounting plate. this keeps everything rock solid.

I had trouble getting the nuts onto the studs so i came up with the idea to cut slots into the mounting plate. this way I could put the nuts on first then slide the gl onto the mounting plate.

Well thats all for now more to come!

Post subject: Yet some more pulse rifle work!

Hi All
Got a big chunk of work done on the PR today. Installed the counter and switch and im really pleased with the results. The counter came with a double A battery setup but I couldnt find a suitable place to mount it. Matsuo suggested that i use a coin type battery. the following pics are what i did today.

I carved out a spot for the coin battery and a spot for the wires. I made spacers for the counter so it would sit flush with the outside of the shroud. More pics to follow.

Hi all
Made further progress this weekend. Cut down the mag and mounted the mag base to the mag

Also did one more final fitting of parts. Then dissasembled the rifle for final sanding then paint!

Attachment:

image.jpg [ 651.83 KiB | Viewed 7942 times ]

one last thing i had to do was put the t shaped peice back into the lower receiver so i can thread a screw into the bottom of the rifle. This is for the metal trim peice that mounts to the rear bottom of the shrouds.

The t shaped peice was crazy glued in using gorilla glue crazy glue gel Thats all for now! Post more later

Post subject: more pulse rifle work
PostPosted: Sat Nov 02, 2013 11:55 pm

Hi again

Well never thought this day would come but... Pulse rifle is now painted! I used krylon camo olive paint on the shrouds and the plates and the mag base. The rest of the parts were painted with flat black. I plan to weather the rifle so anything not metal I painted witb dull aluminum first.
Attachment:
image.jpg
image.jpg [ 957.51 KiB | Viewed 7902 times ]

Attachment:
image.jpg
image.jpg [ 1.17 MiB | Viewed 7902 times ]

I also decided that I wanted the counter to light up when i put the mag in. I drilled two holes into the bottom of the shrouds where the resin screws were.
Attachment:
image.jpg
image.jpg [ 822.26 KiB | Viewed 7902 times ]

I used a steel rivet as a contact. I solderd a wire to the end of the rivet. I did this for each side.
Attachment:
image.jpg
image.jpg [ 661.48 KiB | Viewed 7902 times ]

I then super glued the rivets with the wires in the holes. I wired this up so now its an open circut.
Im going to attach a peice of metal to the mag so it makes contact with the rivets and lights up the counter. Once Its in I can turn off the counter with the switch I installed before. Hopefully tomorrow i can reassemble the rifle and get more pics up!

Those contact rivets are similar to how it works on the HCG PR. :)
