The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Name sounds familiar. Recaster?
Hate to be negative but that's usually why they're familiar

I know for a fact the MT isn't a recast, all the parts he moulded are actual parts. some of which I loaned him for the project. I don't know about the rest of the things but the MT is all above board. If your not interested thats fine I just thought some of you might have been. Never mind though :-)

I've got a helmet cam from them its far cleaner cast than others I've seen and dosnt have any of the normal tell tale signs of a double cast ie shrinkage double mold lines or soft detail ( I've been sculpting and painting resin figures for 20yrs and seen my share of recasts)

There are other accurate kits out there for a lot less money.

Mooncrest's name has come up here a number of times, generally as a source for helmet cams.
AFAIK, we've established that they are NOT recasters - They don't have a very high profile, though, and they aren't active on any forums so we kinda have to go "Wait... Are those the guys with clean kits that ARE legit?" afresh every time! LOL

But from what Glenn says ( Well, DOESN'T say... ), they might have other bad business practices going on.
After your recent "Who owns the moulds?" thread, Glenn - Any chance you COULd say a word, please, and enlighten us as to what you meant up there?

I have had several transactions with them. No problem what so ever. Ordered the Doctor Who keys from them last year and extremely happy with them. Communication was top notch and they answer every question I have had. I have never heard a bad thing about them so if there is something please post. I also follow them on Facebook.

THANK YOU!!!
I'll edit my original post, I knew I recognized the name from somewhere and I shouldn't have gone negative.
I'll also add them as a source on CM.net as well

Ok

First off my remake was meant as a joke ...as in speechless :o .... you wait for ever then 3 people are making MT all made from the original parts that they have spent a lot of time and money tracking down the original parts for the building of the master .

At no point was i implying that Mooncrest models was a recaster , i have i dealt with Gary in the past , he was one of the main suppliers of model kits to me when i ran my own business some years back and all his stuff he makes himself he his a great sculptor ..

if people miss understood my remark then that is my fault and frankly with the stuff going on in my personal life at the moment i have better things to do and worry about ... so much in fact that once i have finished selling some stuff to people on this board .. i will be dropping off the board for a while .... none of the comments made here have upset me in anyway , so do not take me dropping of this board as personal against anyone here .. i will answer any PM or emails

Yeah, not a bad kit by the looks of it.
Can't say I've seen one in the flesh so can't comment on final quality, but I've heard nothing but good reports about Mooncrest.

The price is good for anyone in the EU, where factoring in Shipping, taxes and import duty come into play.

I've seen these kits up close and I have to say they are as crisp as you can get. Gary is a master Model and prop maker and holds a lot of pride in what he does. I like the fact they are hollow so you can fit your own electronics in there.

Still a lot of dosh for some resin bits. But other than that, looks clean and pretty decent to me!
