Really nice kit. SO glad it came with screws. I had to put it together right away but I can take it apart and paint it later. I need to hide the wire. I will go to radio shack to by some of the wire wrap and see how it looks. I could get a hollow mic boom and run it inside but I have not decided. One small problem with my design. The distance from the earbud to the mic is not quite long enough to hide the wire completely w/o shortening the boom. Not a big deal.

Don't forget that embedded in the resin of the ear stalk is a wire rod for reinforcement. So technically there is a hollow in there. But if you remove the rod, that resin part will be very weak. |

Not a problem. I was going to cut the metal rod but decided to hold off. The wire isn't hidden yet but it works great. I will take it apart and sand and paint. I drive with the doors off the jeep so I might add a little bit of foam on the inside of the mic.
