wow pretty cool.. i wonder what it sells for ???

Estimated Price: $15,000 - $20,000

Description:

Nostromo survey buggy from Alien. (20th Century-Fox, 1979). Alien was groundbreaking in terms of creature and set design. The realistic design of the space ship Nostromo and its interior elements fell upon the shoulders of Ron Cobb and Chris Foss. While searching aboard the Nostromo for the small creature that had just burst through “Kane’s” chest, “Ripley” (played by Sigourney Weaver) passes by this survey vehicle in a cargo hold. Designed as a static vehicle, it measures 9 ft. long x 4.5 ft. wide x 7 ft. tall (from the top of the satellite dish), and is constructed of wood on a welded steel frame which is dressed and intricately detailed with parts fashioned of steel, fiberglass, resin, vacuum-formed plastic, electrical components and camera parts. Painted in gold with studio-distressed detailing to appear like a well-used piece of industrial equipment.

So what do we think its worth ? Had to cost a small fortune back in the day to build ( it looks very detailed)

But this photo was taken possibly twenty years ago. I seriously doubt there are two of them, and it is highly unlikely that this is an illegal sale, so clearly something has changed since the buggy was at Bob's.

If I won the lottery I would buy this in an instant!

I went to visit it today, its in pretty much the same shape it was at the premiere. ( Photo above )The 76 is still on it. It measures about 8 ft long + 4 ft wide and pretty was stored well as its all pretty much intact.

If I had the money I'd absolutely buy it. There were two larger tracked vehicles in the Nostromo hangar as well. You can see them in the Alien Vault book. I wonder where they ended up?

Don't see why people are flapping about the "76".
It's clearly visible in the photos of the buggy on that auction site.

This sold in Juliens a few months ago. It's held up very well over the years. You would have to be a die hard fan with lots of space to want to own it.

I'm assuming you mean me buy that statement ?

My point that you have obviously missed is the original post with the movie screen cap the buggy looks different to what it shows in the other photos ( missing tracks, the 76 sticker is hard to tell if its there or not etc )

So my post was to see if it is indeed the "Original" for sale that had had had bits removed or added or it was a newer reproduction of the prop as is often the case when larger items are produced for sale like all the Batmobiles, knight rider cars that appeare at the shows up and down the country
