That's crazy! You really made a great miniature version there. Now you need a body and a head and a wife-dressed-as-an-alien figure to complete the set. |

Thanks guys! As for acquiring the armor sets; Lets just say I'm pretty much out of things I can sell on ebay to subsidize my little adventures... As for the wifey; My brother made the same joke! I told her we would start with "latina barbie" (she is Colombian) and she could hang out with me on the shelf a couple weeks. Then we will see how her outfit/gear evolves from there I frankensteined a body together, got the BDUs I will use just now from Glenn, and found an ok head online (which I am still waiting on). The head of course isnt perfect, but it will be an ok placeholder. |

Hot Toys has recently re-released their ancient Robocop line which came out before their Aliens line, hopefully they are re-tooling and updating all their older more popular lines... |

This is the perfect time for Murphys law to kick in and bone me, so in a way there is hope! Now that I have shelled out untold fortunes and effort to "complete" my squad, the timing is perfect for Hot Toys to revisit the line and render my current collection worthless, and outdated! I don't mind taking one for the team guys. Hopefully it works out. As for 'someone' making armor, there is a guy one the SSF and OSW sites that has been claiming to be working on original (not recast) armor. He supposedly was working on eggs, armor, and original headsculpts of EVERY marine. He did a bang up job sculpting Arnold's team from Predator, so hopes are/were fairly high. BUT...despite the big talk, all he has produced in the last 6 months is a single Hudson head (A nice head if you like the whining Hudson). I for one am doubting how serious he is about the Aliens project. Still, in theory he is working on armor, and based on the head prices, they should be pretty affordable. |

I'm pretty sure that guy did recast the HT armour, there's a pic of the two sets next to each other and there's little to no difference. I may be wrong but I can't see a single difference in either shape or size. I think if HT re-did any of the Aliens line it would be Hicks, possibly the Powerloader. All the new re-tooled figures have been of the 'Holy Grail' figures (Robocop, ED-209, P2 Battle Damaged, Iron Man MK1, AvP Scar pred and Elder). It wouldn't suprise me if they re-do the Celtic Pred too as that's seriously rare. Fingers crossed they release Hudson with a Paxton sculpt, I'd kill for that! Sorry to derail your thread buddy! |

Its all good man. Any talk of the 1/6th hobby isnt derailing anything in my eyes! I guess I missed out when it was cutting edge and cool (There were a bunch of good thread on here back in 2007 when it was new) so it's all fun by me. But as for the recast armor, I think you looking at Dorgmal or the guy that sells the green sets on ebay. Those 2 guys are/were straight up recasts (dorgmal stopped after someone complained). The guy I'm talking about I think was named Kern or something. A fella named IronMan(#s in the name I dont remember) does all his talking for him. His armor, eggs, and all heads except Hudson havent been finished or offered yet. Re-issuing figures has def been a trend as of late for Hot Toys, and if the same quality in improvement carries over to the aliens line, as I said it would be a bitter sweet pill. I would love the new product, but cry that I have to start all over! |

I was 18, employed and had no bills to pay when they came out, I got Hudson, Drake, Vas and Apone. I decided not to get Hicks the first time I saw him, then caved in the next week but he'd gone!! Agh! I still regret it to this day!! Yeh I've been looking at Dorgmal. Have you got a link to the other guy's thread? I think HT are re-doing allot of the older figures to kind of say sorry for the price of new figures. "The old one goes for $600 but this new one goes for $250" I know which one I'd buy! Plus they don't loose money from resellers... |

This is the guy's OSW thread. It kind of died. I tried to bump it when the Hudson head went live and no one seemed to care. http://www.onesixthwarriors.com/forum/s ... -crew.html He does pretty good work when he finally accomplishes something. Here is his Hudson head http://www.ebay.com/itm/Custom-1-6-Scal ... 33828930fb You can see his Predator team heads by clicking his other items. Nice stuff. Hopefully he does follow through on the promises of all the marines. This is Dorgmal for those of you out there who want to see a real nut job! He is great. But he no longer sells armor after complaints of him of being a recaster (which to be fair he absolutely was, but if you believe his side of the story he was selling only to pay for materials and spreading the marine love. I believe him). Regardless he did quit selling. http://www.onesixthwarriors.com/forum/s ... build.html |

Spellbinder99 wrote: Love to see how this comes out. Here is a 1/6 scale Marine that was supposed to be a commission build but I never saw any payment for it even though it was delivered. It is a Dragon figure with a set of FNG's armour, PR and accessories and a set of cams. ... Luckily I still have a set to be able to do this again for myself, I just hope that at least this is still out there somewhere.... Cheers Tony Thats awesome. I also saw your custom Spunkmeyer w/Powerloader on a thread here too. That is some great stuff. I remember seeing the EVA kits back when I was in highschool and thinking how crazy awesome all that stuff was. Little did I know nearly 15 years later the 1/6th scale bug would get me as bad as it did. |

I had to make a mini me recently for a movie we did. We did a lot of models for the film and a small me to hang off the side of buildings and so forth was needed. It was neat looking at a 1/6th scale version of myself. lol |

Patches come from onesixthscaleking.com. Guy's name is Robin and he actually has a ton of aliens stuff in his list of patches he sells (including stuff from the first film). He also custom makes stuff. That is who I had make my Weyland-Yutani patches for my AvP2 dude. Good guy that Robin (did a no hassle exchange for me once), but I must warn you I have heard he can be very slow. Rumor is he fills his orders for highest $$$ first and its pretty common for smaller orders to get bumped back and back. Anyways, in this case, I just glued the custom patches over the top of the velcro backed patches that came with the uniform. |
