The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

So, on the 1st June I was lucky enough to see "Alien On Stage" at Leicester Square - http://www.alienonstage.com/

It was, to put it mildly, pretty damn awesome. Hilarious while still being faithful to the film. And impressive special/creature effects, especially considering it started as an am-dram production. At the end, it got a standing ovation from the capacity audience.

After the show, they had a rather fun after-party and I got talking to a load of the people involved. It seems their creature effects guy who made their Alien suit, 'hugger and 'burster was a big fan of an Alien that wears a red dog collar... :D

Anyway, the director has got in touch with me asking if I could do some evangelism and a quick survey. It now looks likely that the show will be returning to the Leicester Sq theatre for a 3 show weekend run, possibly in June 2014. I'd imagine they have some plans to polish every aspect of the show so it's even better.

However, they would need to charge £20 per ticket to break-even. I think it's worth it, but would you pay £20 to see Alien at the West End?

The only reason I didn't go last time was I couldn't get the time off. I'd love to go.

Hell, i'd love to see them attempt the little known sequel.....

I'd go if you boys were going for sure. Beth nearly bought me tickets for it originally as a surprise then saw a less then favourable review, and thought better of it. If you say its fun, then I'd come along, beers afterwards of course too 8)

Bargain! Would love to do a group outing, and I can think of a few more people who may be interested.

Absolutely!

An interesting thing I found out at the afterparty in London: the version in Dorset started off deadly serious, played straight. With hindsight, some would say that was a touch ambitious with almost no budget and a mix of actors and non-actors. So, without making many changes to the script, it became the slightly humorous version that was seen in London. It walks a good line - without spoiling it, there are a couple of scares, good character stuff and a touch of pantomime going on.

The biggest negative I could say about it is that they had no Jonesy! I wonder ... does anyone know a very well-behaved ginger tom who would be willing to take part? Clanger?? ;)

As Fireball said - I nearly bought tickets before I'd heard about UKCM and was gutted once I saw that you guys had been and really enjoyed it! Also love supporting Leicester Sq Theatre, so definitely there if they do a re-run!
