The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Very groovy mate!
You just need a bit of smoke to make a beam and your all set :)

I'll light some cagarettes and tape them to my crotch plate to make a nice smokey haze!

Hahaha!!
Or you could not run the risk of genital burns and place them on a suitable flat, fire-resistant surface. ;)

It's all funa nd games until someone gets their genitals burned. 8)

Just a quick note that I was testing the fit in that photo, so there's a lot of bits missing from the arm and as a result it looks sort of skinny and strange. I promise I'll bulk it up before I call this project completed. The main issue at the moment is stability of the base itself. I haven't finished building the back side of the base (as I needed access for nuts and bolts), so it has a little bit of wiggle. Once I get that all built up it should be solid as Dwayne Johnson.

Two more quick shots from the test fit. Who wears a polo with their armour??

Here you can see how both the upper part of the back of the base and the back of the head need to be finished off.

The grills on the side of the lamp make a really cool grid pattern, as seen here on my neck. It isn't as cool as the SA lamps, but it has a unique look that works for me.

I'm hoping to make some headway this week as I have a drop on the 21st!

This broken task lamp arm will provide a couple of needed parts, first and foremost the rounded bit under the lamp head. I'm also salvaging the toggle switch for the side of the head. It won't actually work (sadly!), but the originals have it and so I'm going to throw it on there for good measure.

And here are the rounded bits placed on the lamp head, as well as the piece of the Rexim Favor toy gun. Kinda fun to keep it in the family as the rest of the Rexim is being modified into a Nostromo pistol.

Thank you Diemos! I'll eventually save up for either a Matsuo or Chef lamp, but this one has served me well and was fun to make!
