The old lamp I currently have is very weak on the joint between the box and the arm, causing it to wobble. Does anyone else suffer with a wobbly shoulder lamp arm, and if so how did you strengthen it? |

Hi Ade. a picture would be helpfull. What manufacture is your lamp? If u can tell how the arm is mounted on/ in the body... mine is complete inside of the body. it starts right site inside and left the Body right side with screws. |

Attachment: Its quite an old lamp and I don't know who made it. The circled joint where the lamp arm, handle, and box join is very weak |

A tiny dab of superglue in the joint? That's how I stopped the rear view mirror in my car from adjusting itself everytime I hit a bump? |

I was thinking something similar Jon. Is everyones box made like this, I haven't seen any others, just seems like a really weak way of attaching something so top heavy |

I think you need to strengthen the whole area with something like a thin sheet of metal. As you mentioned you've got a relatively heavy item hanging off an intrinsically weak area. Just a small piece glued in place would do the job. |

Suppose I'm paranoid some brat will dangle off it at a drop and in its current state wouldn't take a lot to snap off lol |

rebuild the inside of the joint with fiberglas. some layers of it should make that area strong ![]() |
