The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

My ex-wife and I usually go to the MCM Expo with the kids (well, say kids, but the eldest two are 22 & 18!). I usually do something Resident Evil related, as do the kids, but the ex has no interest.

But we were chatting today, and she found a template for WY ID cards, she's thinking of doing that, as she loves the movie, so was thinking that could be a great idea. She could go as exec or colonist, and I'm considering maybe WY security or PMC.

So, any guys have any suggeestions?

actually this exact scenerio is one of the things I was thinking when I posted pics of all the weyland-yutani guys from the movies and video games on this thread. I think they start around post#9 with the Alien 3 guys.

A white lab coat and a WY ID badge is an easy 'scientist'. Skies i the limit though. Personally the latest A:CM grunts and AvP2 'convict' security force are little obsessions of mine.

While the armoured WY guys in Alien3 are of course awesome, I'd love to see someone recreate the scientist outfits with the crazy clear plastic hoods and stuff. It looks like they just stepped off the set of Balde Runner!

I realized I sell mirror sunglasses very similar to this guy.

Thinking get the lil lady dressed in white, slap a baggy on here head and give her those specs, then put a plush chestburster/facehugger on a leash or something. Could be a comfortable low maintenance option!

Thanks for the input guys - at the moment we're actually leaning towards Hadley's Hope Sheriff's Department, which is a bit different and I don't think has ever been done.

Okay, been a while, but finally have started working on this properly.

Patches :-

Hadley's Hope LV-426 Tape
J. Marachuck Nametape
Weyland-Yutani Security Patch (x2, one for each shoulder)
Weyland Yutani Corporation Patch (for cap)
Police-Blue Sargeant Stripes

Uniform:-

Cap
Casual Russell Jacket
Combat Trousers
ABOVE ALL NAVY BLUE

Next will be boots (prob black tactical/jungle), pistol/tactical belt, holster, sidearm, shotgun.

I would have got a SPAS 12, but as it's the basis for the pulse rifle grenade-launcher, I don't want to confuse the unenlightened, so probably go for a regular pump-action.

I like that, John Maracheck and he's a sheriff!

I'd go for a uniform similar to Sean Connery's on Outland.

A quick search on the web brought up a couple nice WY logos, so I printed and laminated them to dress up some of my work gear. That quick shot of operations in the Director's Cut were we get to see all the employees going about their business makes me really happy.

I love the idea of fleshing out J. Maracheck with a cool backstory. Nice one!

I was initially considering more of an Outland Federal Marshal look, as the two movies seem like they could easily fit within the same universe. Of course, the Federal Marshal patches are based specifically for Con-Am 47, so would take things a little away from the ALIENS links. They would need modification or I'd need specially made patches. It's certainly on my future to-do list though!

Nice there retrograde, it'd be great to get some more people to show a bit more of Hadley's prior to the crap hitting the fan!

My ex is going as a med tech (I picked up a generic medical caduceus patch for her), basically we would possibly be part of the team sent to rescue the Jordans.

And if you want to drive the point home, get yourself one of those Wey-Yu "black Pulse Rifles." :)

I just noticed Harry has a fantastic closeup of the badges the WY employees are wearing:

http://www.harryharris.com/badge.htm

I know embroidered patches are easy to come by, but these look like engraved name tags.

Yeah, they're "engraved" badges (I don't think actually engraved, they appear painted/letraset, Harry obviously would know more). Something I'm considering working on. I think they're more an "office" badge, less likely to be worn when outside the complex, but cool nonetheless.
