The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

So I was looking for a thread for this, Pulse Rifle Porn, if you will. Didn't see one and got tired of looking, so I added this one.

This is mine, just finished up what all I wanted to ad to it today. I call her the Pale Horse.

Please ad your own customized Pulse Rifle picks, you know folks love looking at them.

If all goes well, this thread will be very photo heavy at the end of the day.

To be honest that thread suffered from the Great Ezboard Hack of 2005- many of the links to photos have been lost by the hack itself, or moved/deleted by the original posters over the years.

It wouldn't hurt to fire up a new thread, so I'll get things rolling with mine:

Image

This is "My Little Friend." One of Matsuo first resin and vacformed shroud PRs. Purchased the kit it in 2004. So it breaks down into about 6 or 7 main parts (can really remember as it has been years since I've done it). Everything is held together with strategically placed screws. There is not a drop of glue/epoxy holding this thing together and it is as strong as a bull!

The counter does light up to 95 (doesn't count down though). The trigger moves and is spring loaded. The fire selector/safe switches and mag release are operational (the mag release is spring loaded too). Magazine comes out attached to the mag base. Looks like a 20rnd Thompson magazine as it should. The SPAS cage and barrel vent are resin. While the SPAS cage is hollow, it has been filled with expanding foam for support. The barrel vent is solid. The stock is resin as well. One of these days I'm going to bite the bullet and upgrade to a metal stock and barrel vent.

Some shots of the graffiti:

One with the shroud removed (just after priming):

I really went to town with the weathering, if I could do it over again, I would have dialed it back a bit (my inspiration was the pics of the Alien3 rifle on Harry's site). Since I painted the shroud in 2004 (before learning the shrouds were Brown Bess) they are OD green. Again, one of these days I might repaint it BB (or a close facsimile to BB). However taking the shroud off requires the removal of several screws and strike plates- I haven't gone through with it for fear of stripping the threads of the screw holes.

I noticed that in that thread actually. Most every link did NOT work. I still posted there though, which seemed to resurrect the thread a bit, but it was probably on like page 3000, so it is not a wonder no one was posting in it anymore. Thanks though, now I don’t feel redundant.

Of course, now that I think of it, redundancy is not a bad thing in any military operation. :)

Here is the sling I put on The Pale horse if anyone wants a sling. I thought it was a good price compared to some of the other ones I saw for like $50 bucks or whatever.

Great looking Pulse Rifles! Sgt Kitten love the case! And SFC Baldwin, cool accessories. I wish more would do this. I'm seriously thinking about repainting mine black, as seen in ALIENS 3. Just to be different. While we all know what the PR looked like in ALIENS and ALIEN 3 I'm sure in the ALIEN universe there would have been all kinds of different versions and stuff done to them. I'm all for "screen accurate" but don't feel the need to be bound by it. Hmm....

Robiwon - Agreed. From what I have seen in the past, the black Pulse Rifle is the colors used by the WeyYu Corperates, or PCM's as I believe they where refereed to in A:CM. That being said, the notion that atleast one Colonial Marine would have had a black one is not a far fetched thing in my view.

My issue weapon- G&P kit around a TM Thompson
Added the 'Turkey Undertaker' slug-gun sights once I stopped laughing at the name of the rear sight (The Ring O'Fire no less....I'd lay off the chillis, mate), airsoft OD sling and a little paracord braid at the muzzle end
Aged paint job and some graffiti that suits my temperament- plus a battery bag for airsofting use
Lovely ID plate from Gwen (of this parish)

Image
Graffiti reads- "Long uncontrolled bursts!" and "For Indication Only!" next to the round counter.

My now fully completed Spulse Rifle. I ended up re-painting the brackets that attach the shroud from black to the dirty brown colour. Added a sling, salvaged one from my 2 quart canteen. Graffiti on the end of the barrel says "Bye Bye F**kers". Got a body count on the inside shroud too. Armoury label is from SGT KITTEN, that I modified a bit to read UACM.
