The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Well, regarding this. I could not tell if it was SU.

But, the electrical board underneath it does look like what could of been inside the part underneath the screen. If you watch the close ups of the tracker in the movie. You can clearly see there is something under the motion tracker screen. ;)

The red showing through the paint tells it is made from real parts (well the body at least).

Real hard to see but the sling clip looks right, can you make out how many 'stitch lines' are on the sling?

Tell your friend to take some more (or find out who owns it)

Where Kev and his Blu-ray screen captures when we need him?

Unfortunately after my last HD crash, I lost the ability to take screencaps. :(

Biggest problem with something like this is that so many years have passed since filming, it can be nearly impossible to verify the provenance of it. Items can change hands multiple times. Something that at one time was just an accurate replica eventually "becomes" screenused by word of mouth (either through misinformation, or deliberate deception). Someone got from someone who said it was screenused, who got it from someone else who was told it was screenused etc.

It would be a great find if it indeed was SU of course. :)

I think the proof of this is the provenance; in this case the owner, or presumably previous owner is a former Aliens crew member.
