Foam rubber and latex? I'm not sure I'd pay that much for something that has a very limited lifespan. That said it would be amazing to have one that big.

Don't get me wrong, it looks AWESOME but hey, looks like we'll finally be getting the elusive Lambert figure.

That is before shipping which adds 75.00. Why they chose this and not blow molded plastic I have no idea.

Every photo I've seen has the Kane figure facing away, so yeah, probably not.

Why hasn't someone made an alternative head for Kane?

And I agree with the chosen material for the SJ. I've owned latex masks and I stopped buying them a long time ago simply because they will. Not. Last.

If you're lucky, you might get something like that to last fifteen or twenty years, and if that's long enough for you, congratulations. I've heard of some latex/foam rubber masks surviving from the 60's to this very day, but you have to WORK to keep them around that long.

If I spend $300+ on something, I'd expect it to be around until I either fall on it and crush it, or it's destroyed in a fire.

I am sure the reason they choose that material is due to the size/cost of steel tooling required to make in
plastic.

If that is the case, how on earth did Halcyon manage to make licensed lifesize facehugger model kits available for $40 in the 1990's? Dropships for $20? I know they are not around now, and it's unreasonable for them to be anywhere near that cost now, but it seems crazy that costs have gone up that much.

I think a lot of it has to do with the rising costs of factory production in China.

Harry, I highly recommend the sideshow space jockey maquette. Dimensions are almost identical to NECA and is polystone. The paint job is amazing.

Here is a few more pics for size comparison and to JulIan Blooms sculpt, and a screen shot from the film, plus the prop up close. Who knew that some unknown malicous person actually set the original prop on fire when on display at the theatre in CA due to it being viewed as an evil sculpt.

I have seen sideshows sculpt in person and it's really amazing, plus a great paint job

Here is NECA's for comparison. I think the Sideshow maquette is by far the best version out there.
