The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Number 5: Pull Tab cans

Not seen much since the 1980's, these cans saw a surge in popularity in the 2120's when Aspen Beer decided to bring back the "retro" style.

Number 4: Wooden Ships

Weylan(d)-Yutani discovered that a controlled amount of creative self expression on the part of its employees was more cost effective for boosting morale than prescribing antidepressants. Lambert had her cowboy boots, Parker had his girly mags, Brett had his model ships.

Number 3: Oxen

How else would you haul downed EEV's out of the sea? Cheap labor, and a food source: if only they could pilot commercial towing vehicles...
As a side note I'd love to see the cryo tube they'd need for transporting these things. An "Ox-Box"?

Number 2: Continuous Paper

Once considered as outdated as pull tab cans, these connected sheets of paper proved vital on space ships and space stations where a sudden loss of gravity could put your report to the ICC in disarray.

Number 1: Cardboard Boxes

Made from 100% post-consumer waste. The Company is proud of it's recycling efforts and encourages all employees to do their part to keep the galaxy clean.

Don't mean to nitpick (well... yes I do   ) but that looks like the "push button" style tabs of the late 70s, not pull tab:

Doh!

I was born in '77 so I pretty much missed the boat on these. Thanks for the info!

You can ship the oxen as calves.

I'm a big fan of the 'big wheel' for kids.

If you weren’t bothered about comfort (or survivability ) could you just have a big old cryo-room ? Shove them in shoulder to shoulder and hit the switch. :)

they brought the push-tabs back in the mid-90s... STILL can't bloody remember the name of the lemon drink that was in those cans, but I made an astounding discovery.
Artificial lemon flavouring from that + artificial mint flavour from gum = ...

... REALLY STRONG PINEAPPLE FLAVOUR
WTF?

The second one is more accurate. Compare it to the prop photo above.

It's all good! Someone on the RPF made a printable label that fits right around a vintage can. I'm afraid I don't have the link handy though.
