Still working in progress as this was only meant as Plan B to get ready for the next drops.

This is my V1.2 of a pre-owned Golden Armor M56A2 Smart Gun.
V1.1 was needed to kickstart the upgrade of the electronics.

A couple of modification to the original GA had already been made by its previous owners as you can see on the V1.1 pictures.

What I did was adding:

- A working Kawasaki switch (used as on/off switch, trigger and sound selector a: single, b: burst)
- A real MG 42 metal ammo drum housing the sound & flash electronics plus the loudspeaker.
And the batteries that are running low as fast as a MG42 on burst thanks to the power LEDs and the pre-amplifier. The Sounds are coming from an ELV MP3 Sound
Module that is coupled with the flash logic for the LEDs.
- A metal muzzle with power LED ring around the metal barrel
- A ball joint to connect to the “L-shaped arm interface”, which was done by Matt, for easy de-/attachment of the SG to the arm. Thanks Matt!
- A movable brake/trigger (no cable so the red switch still works as trigger for the electronic)
- Kawasaki AR 125 struts
- A few minor modifications (weathering still work in progress)

How it looks? Find out here: http://s1217.photobucket.com/user/frapet69/library/Aliens/GA_M56A2

I hope you like it.
Last, but not least a big thanks to pulseriflefan for all the Flausen!

@88reaper88: Thanks. Looks like you had your share of this orange GA resin yourself. :)
At least it doesn't break that easily. Still not comparable to the resin Spat or Matt use.

Looks great. Great additions to it. I did the same and added a khawiski swicth to mine. Very cool. My question is where are you getting your sound fx board from. I really wanna do it. But have no idea where to begin. Any direction. Would be helpful. I saw a couple of mg 42 ammo drums on eBay. Might pick one up. Bottom great work!

I certainly have buddy! I've also sampled his blue resin and pink/white marble effect resin (obviously couldn't be bothered stirring it)... all on one kit!! The blue being particularly brittle compared to the orange and marbled ones.

It's hard to think yours is a GA, truely amazing work.
Jealous doesn't come close...

Thanks for your feedback!

@MattRendar: The MP3 Sound Module is from ELV Germany (http://www.elv.de/mp3-sound-modul-msm-2 ... eraet.html).
They also offer the new version: MSM3. Check out other sources like http://www.voodoofx.com/sound.htm for MP3/WAV Sound boards.
I don't want to advertise here, there are many good solutions for sound effects.

@88reaper88: I only know the orange resin. And I don't think it's good to your health. Glad you like it.

@Magnus: Most parts are bought and assembled on demand by an Electronics company where I live.
For the PR you might want to check out the lightbender Counter. LEDs and Sound can be added here as well.
Sound for a PR is a different topic if you want to consider empty mags etc. I haven't done this, yet.
I only did some simple tasks for the electronics on my own.

@Agustus: No video, yet. The pre-amplifier and the LEDs run down the batteries to fast after all the testing yesterday.

The project is not finished. Once more parts are added I will make new pictures and
perhaps a quick video demonstrating the switches, flash and sound effects.
The sounds are stored on an SD Card so you can add up to 10 different sounds effects (currently two are used).

quick update.
Tested the "low power mode" for the LEDs and the sound board.

In real live the sound is much loader. :)

I also added two pictures of the new ball joint (20 kg load) to the bucket library.

Other parts awaiting shipment to me.

Now that the M56A2 has survived its first drops it’s time to progress with the Display case:

The case isn’t exactly light.
My second option is an extra large US Army duffel bag.

What are you using?
