So I've finally secured some Spatcave armour- V1 without the back brackets and some MAA Fatigues. And the G&P Pulsie of course. Missing in this shot are my 1980s Jungle boots (because they were caked in mud at the time, which Mrs Demoncase had issue with getting on the carpet) and my Gerber Mk2 (as it's taped to my STABO rig at the bottom of a heap of kit in The Gunroom) ![]() ![]() Next steps: - Sort out all those trailing straps. - Reappropriate my M3 SMG satchel for the mags (not screen accurate I know, but it is a practical for airsoft) and add a pistol holster plus spare mag pouch - Paint up the armour in a camo pattern and add a few graffiti bits - 'weather' the M41 a bit. - USCM patches on the way to be added to fatigues when they arrive. -Converted M1 helmet on order from the mighty Spat (all hail his awesomeness!) - Clean my jungle boots...Doh. |

Looking good marine, but ever heard of green screen? Just kidding Trailing straps are a pain, I'm tempted to just sew mine to size as they're always loosening up. I do love the flat green armor....nice variation. |

Get some black or green tape (depending on the color of the straps), fold the straps over and over until they are short and tight to the buckle and wrap a small piece of tape around it to hold it in place. This way you can always lengthen it again later, just in case. |

Not bad Marine. You could do with some help/assistance in fitting the armour, as the chest looks like it's sitting a bit high, almost cutting into your neck. Might be the side straps which fit it to the back being wrong lengths. Ensure all four side straps are longer than needed when putting the armour on, then clip together and tighten the bottom ones first, pulling the chest down so it sits comfortably away from your throat, then do the upper straps. |

Thanks for the advice guys.....Green screen!?- You mean you don't like my curtains? Flat OD for the time being until next weekend- then it's a proper camo paint job, followed up with a smattering of graffiti here and there...and then I'll be taping up the straps too, once I work out the right length for the little devils. |

Looks great man! Avoid using duct tape on the extra strapping...on mine there is a nasty residue. I like hockey tape...it's flat, and doesn't leave nastiness behind! |

There are velcro-like straps you can get for wrapping computer cables etc. They wrap around themselves and stick tight. I use these and never have an issue with tape residue. You'll need to cut them to size as they are about 6" long. |

I was planning on taking a tip from my Nam webbing and using some cut bits of bicycle inner tube- slip 'em over the connector and onto the webbing bit, then they are stretchy enough to retain the extra length without leaving a residue. |

Did a little work to the G&P Pulsie today....now it looks like metal rather than plastic ![]() ![]() ![]() And I need sights- Hicks and Hudson might cope without them, but I need all the help I can get |

There is some good looking work going on with these wolf/Matrix/evike pulses these days. makes me wish I had one to monkey around with. But I'm pretty pot committed on the one I made. |

To be honest, I prefer it without...Does that make me a bad person? I know, I know it's screen accurate to have the muted tones, but I just like the way it looks as is. That and I'll be using it in the woods for airsoft and it'll be getting plenty dirty the natural way |
