We are a very BIG step closer to identifying the Vidcom parts.
“
bughunt10” sent me a photo of an “ACT Apricot PC” he found where the bottom matched an item unidentified in the corridor which he intended to find for his corridor project.

After a lot of research it was confirmed that other parts of the “Apricot PC” he identified were used elsewhere, such as the Vidcom.

We’ve identified 2 different models used in the film in various areas. They are the “Apricot PC” (credit
bughunt10) and the “Apricot Xi” models.
We have discovered the bottom portion of the Vidcom body is made from the same bottom used in the corridor as well as the rear panel which was used as the front.
The cream coloured “Apricot PC” with two 3.5 inch floppy disk drives found by
bughunt10 was used in the Sulaco Hypersleep bay and Atmosphere Processor, and the grey/black “Apricot Xi” with one 3.5 inch floppy disk drive can be seen on the desk in Medlab (along with the black keyboards attached). These two models share the same casing style aside from colour and the two drives versus one drive. The bottom tray portion of the housing and the rear panel are used extensively throughout every scene in the film.

I will be posting the other instances of its usage in the Set Identification thread, but this post will be about the Vidcom.
It’s hard to see the lines/angles of the sides of the case as in the Vidcom, but they may have cut the case on an angle to have it angled back. Still yet to be identified is the “hood” that sits over the Panasonic TC-801.

bughunt10 has acquired an Apricot PC model for his corridor project but he has humoured me and placed the bottom tray and rear panel together to mock up the layout of the vidcom. Huge Thanks to “
bughunt10”! Due to this, we have approximate measurements to identify the hood as well as the tone dialer used.
