The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I was at the used book store dropping off some stuff to sell and was perusing their comics/graphic novels section while I waited. I came across this and had to get it. I haven't read it yet so not sure about the quality, but I flipped through it and the art looks good at least!

The 2000AD Dredd 'Incubus' arc was probably the best- Megacity One gets a mild Xenomorph infection which receives a typically gruff judgement from the happy-go-lucky lawman :D

And that's one of the reasons I stopped collecting/reading Aliens vs._____ cross overs. It got pretty ridiculous with the number and type of cross overs.

All well. I've only recently gotten into comics/graphic novels so I thought it was neat. I didn't realize it was such an overdone thing.

No matter. I can still drool over Witchblade.

Oh don't mind me, that's just my personal opinion. If you like it, that's the only thing that matters! :)

I'm sure as I keep coming across them I'll get to your point of it being ridiculous, but since I'm still new I'll keep being excited until then :)

If your interested in Aliens graphic novels then I would say to look up the Dark horse's Aliens Omnibus 1-6. They are a collection of storys from across the Aliens universe, Aliens omnibus 1 picks up the story of Aliens in a timeline were Alien3 never happened.

Omnibus 1 and 2 are great. After that things begin to spin out of control a bit as Alien3 threw a wrench into Dark Horse's chronology, but there's still some fantastic stories and art in these. I'm not sure if the Ombibus versions have been retconned with the names Billie and Wilkes, but know that these were Newt and Hicks originally.

The original comics def picked up from Aliens and followed the adventures of Hicks and Newt. But after Alien 3 came out they went back and changed some stuff, namely names. The version of the Omnibus vol one I have actually does include the name change of Hicks and Newt to "Wilkes" and "Billie". Also Ripley goes from "Ripley" to "someone claiming to be Ripley" (later written to be an android I think...lame.) So it kiiiiind of does assume Alien 3 happened. Stupid Alien 3 always ruining everything....

Still a good read! Def worth picking up. I'll have to check mine tonight to see what edition mine was. I assumed the Omnibi all included the changes, but if there are earlier ones out there that still say "Hicks" I would like to hunt them down.

I still have my original issues and graphic novel collections from the pre-Alien3 days. The comics got so many things right, but they blew the opportunity to explore the USCM in more depth (or at least in a manner consistent with the film).

Finny though: Aliens: Earth War shows the Sulaco being stopped, an umbilical connecting it to another ship, and a contingent of Marines going back to Acheron and exploring the Space Jockey's ship! It gave me deja vu when I saw these elements in the Gearbox trailers.

It's so out there, but I kind of enjoyed Superman vs Aliens. Green
Lantern got his butt handed to him by the aliens as I recall. :)

Batman Vs. Predator was quite well done, although it was another in a long line of Predator 2 retreads. That's as far into superhero crossover territory as I was willing to go!

I'll prod Scapey to bring me the Omnibus when he comes to visit this summer so I can check them out. He must have them.

I missed that one, I'll have to pick it up. Thanks for the heads-up!

There are some truly great Aliens vs _______ crossovers out there; the first Batman vs was great... the next one, not so much!

The old Aliens stories are great too, I highly recommend Aliens: Labyrinth.

I actually don't have the omnibii ( Yeah? ), as I got the Aliens comics when they first came out... Then in trade paperback format, still before the Alien-3-mandated changes.
Wilkes and Billie my pasty white Scottish ARSE!

Aliens omn 1 and 2 are awesome, Aliens Labyrinth from 3 is also excellent. All the Herk Mondo stuff is ace. AvP Omn 1 was also spiffing, too.

The rest.....kinda pants and kinda lost in their own little universe that didn't really link to the original except they had the same beasties. Even WY stopped showing up....:(

Also, mockery inbound I'm sure, but in terms of crossovers, Tarzan vs Predator was ACTUALLY quite well done....

Both Batman vs Predator were entertaining. Maybe not GOOD, but entertaining
