Just making a general post for anyone who hasn't peeked at the "smartgunner headset" thread.

I'm currently searching pretty hard for a Beyerdynamic HM560 headset - that's the mic and headband used for the smartgunner headset, not just the M560 mic used for the helmets. If anyone has one they'd be willing to sell, or knows where I can get one, I'll entertain any reasonable offer. Or, if anyone knows what Jesse's favorite kind of beer is and how many cases I'd need to send him to bribe him to finish his headset kits before DC this year, that'd work too xD

I guess you could consider this a "please help!" thread, hehe. I have parts on the way or at least plans for every other part of the M56 rig, but the headset's gonna be difficult. This is the only costume I'm going to have for DC this year, so I really want it to be as complete as possible. Just wouldn't be the same without the headset, ya know?

It is just the headband part.

It was part of a plantronics aviation headset.

Matt, you're my hero. This headband is a PERFECT substitute. A quick mod to make the temple pads match the Beyer ones, and nobody will know the difference.

Maybe I'll get even luckier and Jesse will be able to sell me the rest of the headset. Last time I heard from him, it sounded like the only thing holding that particular kit back was lack of a source for the headband.
