I have 1/2 of the models used in that photo hanging in my son's bedroom. Hint: it isn't the one designed by Syd Mead ![]() Great job Bob! |

Excellent paintjob/weathering on the Sulaco DSB! Is that one of those light up Moons? I considered grabbing one when I saw them, but wasn't sure how detailed they were. Kevin |

Thanks for the comments! ![]() The Sulaco is the old Halcyon kit from waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back, I built it years and years ago. My youngest son had this moon hanging in his room, but it got knocked down and I guess the hard landing knocked something loose internaly because it stopped working. It had been laying in my parts bin so I decided to do make a new display. Kevin, it's pretty detailed. There are high and low spots on the surface, and given it's convex shape, it looks very much like the real thing. The light-up feature is also really nice, you can go from full to half moon with stages in between (waxing/waining). You can set it via a wireless remote to slowly cycle through all stages or use a button to set it exactly how you want it. It made a great night-light untill it met it's demise. |
