The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Well it was bound to happen. I pulled out the MT for "haunted basement" and it isn't working. I can hear something rattling inside and the trigger sticks. I have two boys.
Has anyone taken one of these apart? I will first check the batteries but I don't even remember where they are.

I've never taken mine apart- but the batteries are located in the Hama viewer section. On the underside of the viewer is a single Phillips head screw that holds the compartment door in place.

PS- ask your boys if they have been "playing Aliens" with it.

My kids? No. They are surrounded by airsoft, aliens, armor, weapons. It is ho hum for them. It is when they have sleepovers with their friends that I am sure that things get bumped in the night.
Maybe a fresh set of batteries will bring it back to life.

I would never sell it so I am not worried about resale. It was just tons of fun in a smoke filled dark basement.

Dude! That sounds scarier than Halloween Horror Nights!

I hope you are able to get your MT fixed!

I've not taken mine apart, but if items such as these are anything to go by then open it carefully because stuff always 'pops out' that's a pain in the a$$ to put back in afterward ;)

Also.....snap a few pics of it opened up for reference if you could ;)

I seem to recall there being a problem with the battery leads not making full contact with the batteries, but if it was working and now isn't, this wouldn't explain the problem.

I took mine apart TWICE. Once, the weights inside were flopping about & second time the strap swival came out. Both times it was fixed. This was over 2 years ago & I never documented it. Not hard, just have to be gentle as it's plastic. If you have any mechanical aptitude, you should have no problems. Oh yes, also had to replace the front "loop" which is suppose to be an antenna. Being a ham radio operator, I used Rg-8 coax which I stripped out the inside leaving the outer black casing intact.
Good luck Joe!
