The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hey guys!

Just before Liz and I got married we took the other plunge and finally bought some amour!

Liz's kit still needs trimming down a fair bit but mine is good as done! I've just got us some British desert DPM as we can't afford Spats kit yet, all we need are some UKCM patches and a touch of graffiti!

Looking good Marine. 8)

Is that the armour you got from Glenn?

If so, what type is it, Spat's or fibreglass/something else?

Glenn can't remember even owning armour, so it'd be good to let him know more about it. :)

Only problem is being a second hand set its already got someone's name on it that I need to remove (which is hard enough) worse part is this was Glenn's set, which makes everything a bit more meaningful.

On a side note, what is the best way to remove artwork from armour?

As I was typing Steve posted.....

In answer to your question in wearing the spat set, Liz will be wearing the fiberglass!

So Glenn's is the fibreglass set? :)

A good person to ask about repainting/removing artwork from armour would be nick-a-tron. :)

Right ive been trimming down liz's set today (which made me cry!)

Ive got to ask, is there any thing that doenst look right about my costume? (apart from my fat belly and the wrong BDUs?)

any advice/pointers/extra griblies that I could add on would be cool! (and dont worrie, ive got plans for graffiti!)

The chest armour needs to sit lower on you, so it's not at your throat and goes over the top of your ab pad.
You might need to reshape it to do that, especially at the shoulders.
It'll also help it to sit lower if you buckle up and tighten the lower set of straps at the sides first, which connect to the back section, then the upper set, then connect the shoulder sections.

The belt could do with some pouches on, either Noble's or any other similar OD green ones. :)

Might be better to fix the knife/sheath 'upside down', so the handle's at the bottom. :)

That would depend on whether you love screen accuracy or keeping your knife more!

The sheath I use has a clasp bit to hold the knife in place.

Tbh I may take the knife off. It's still on there from when this was Glenns.

I've got a spair 'nade strap but I'm also trying to think of something different to put there, an extra pouch maybe?

So do most knives, but I once spoke to a Nam veteran who lost his issued SOG knife that way and never carried a knife like that again! :D
