The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Please, take the time to tell us a little about yourself and what your particular interest in the Aliens movies is.

Cheers

Hello All,

I'm Harry Harris. Hopefully most of you will know me but for those that don't I'm quite keen on Aliens and even have one or two original bits and pieces lying around somewhere. ;)

Spellbinder99 has graciously made me moderator here and I'm extremely honoured to take the position. I'll only really be keeping an eye on things when Tony is away but that's not to say that I won't be watching!

So, welcome one and all! I hope that we'll be as happy here as we were in our old home.

Regards,

Harry.

Greetins,
I am Matsuo...but please call me Matt.
I'm a prop builder and costumer of modest ability. I like big guns and am not ashamed of it..;)

I do have the ability to make "Cannon" pieces but as many who know me, my true love are customs, and obscure bits from the expanded universe.

Aside from the Aliens realm, I have been as of late working to build up my Leather working repertoire of holsters and sundrys.

Glad to be a part of the board and the replica prop and costuming field in general!

Matt

Hello guys,

My name is Barry, and I'm an Alienaholic...

Happy to see this new board up and running, guided by the fanatical, but capable hands of Tony and Harry.

I own Halcyon models, a plastic kit manufacturing company that handled the Alien/Aliens/Alien3 licenses from the late 80's-mid 90's.

We produced a variety of plastic injection spacecraft/vehicle kits and vinyl creature models from the first three films in the trilogy. We did not produce anything from the wonderful Alien Ressurrection.

Aloha -- I'm Steve Lin and based out of Honolulu, Hawaii, though I'm known to roam around East & South East Asia. I primarily collect militaria, especially Vietnam War era, though I dabble here and there with collecting movie props. Like you all -- I fancy Aliens and related items/subjects as well.:)

Hello,

My name is Marc and i from The Netherlands (i'm Dutch, isn't that weird?!). I am 30 years old, have a lovely hobbysupporting girlfriend and a 2 week old son (who will hopefully share his fathers pasion when he grows older).

Aliens is one of my alltime favorite movies and THE reason i came into contact with propbuilding/collecting. My collection is still modest, but growing steadily :)

I had a great time at the old Aliensboard, and am sure i will over here, so much friendship to be found.

Cheers,

Marc

I'm Andrew Bradbury, 25, and reciently moved to LA from sunny London. Following my dreams to work in the movies and one day work on something as good as Aliens... one can hope. So far I've managed to work on Pluto Nash... go figure.. :)

Aliens is my favourite of the quadrilogy, and has been one of my favourite films ever since it came out. I've also been making home made Pulse rifles for years, and one day hope to own a really good replica... one day! I don't have much else in the way or props, what little I did have is now in storage in the UK. :(

Hello all,

Many of you may know me from the aliensarchive. I have been a member there for sometime now. I seem to have lost track of time. I am an Aliens (#2) diehard. I have lots of props and models, unfortunately all are in different stages of development. I couldn't tell you how many thousands I have spent in parts alone, boggles the mind. I am 43 yrs young, Retired army 1SG.MSG E-8, and miss it very much. I have been an Aliens fan since the first time I saw it in the theatre (#1) and about sh*t my pants. Talk about some scarry stuff, (back then) whew. I love the people I have met on the archive and look forward to seeing them here. I have learned so much from the folks and hope to learn even more. I know we will all have fun here. Thanks. :)

HI.
I'm BBC Lewis, and I've been posting in the old 'aliens archive' board for just short of a year.
Anyone who wants to know why I'm called 'BBC' Lewis can have a look here>> Clan =BBC= and look in the 'company' section (And no, I don't work for the BBC :P )

I'm 17 years old, and have been led into the world of Aliens and props due to my eternal loving of the saga as a whole. I have a small, general collection of props, including some of the more common 'aliens' related ones. I work part time at my dads' TV special effects business. I am currently working on my own alien costume in conjunction with my art and media courses at my Leeds (England) 6th form. I hope to have it completed this side of halloween. :P

The old board was slowly increasing my knowledge of aliens props, and I hope this board will help me as much; so that one day, I will own a brilliant marine and alien costume.
Now er, all I need is the dosh.
:D

Oh great the first post I do and it's in the wrong frikkin' place!

Duh!

This is what I posted in the OT forum:
Quote:
Hi guys, just thought I'd post a thread to re-introduce myself in the new home!

Looks very good!

The old board was great - very refreshing compared to the continual arguements and Prop Police on the RPF!

I also took the opportunity to change my name to Lollypopuk from Baisemontchou (kiss-my-ass, or if you change one letter it's also Kiss-my-cabbage in Guernsey French for those who asked!)

Can I spit on the mat and call the cat a bastard?

(a prize for the first one who knows where that quote comes from)

The prize still goes - but I'd like to give the new admin and mod some practice at thread deletion over in OT, where you can delete my thread! :D

Hi everyone.

I'm called Paul as you can probably guess from my user name (the ID I use everywhere else (necronom) was taken). I am 32 years old and I am a computer programmer/analyst.

I have a resin Pulse Rifle, a few Halcyon models and some bits of a Motion Tracker (project on hold until I can get a drill casting - hint, hint).

Aliens has been my favourite film for a long time. I first saw it in about 1987-88. I was too young to see it at the cinema when it was released, so I will be very happy if it gets a re-release like Alien is getting.

I also love the Terminator films and I have a metal chromed T-800 head and I'm currently finishing off a T-800 arm kit.

The old board was brilliant and I know this one will be just as good.

[EDIT] I forgot to say that i'm from England (Middlesbrough to be exact - in the North East).

Paul.

Hi,

I'm Simon, 36 year old from Surrey in the UK. I'm looking for a lady in excess of six foot five who shares my love of Lammy the guitar-playing lamb and mottled cats.

Okay, wrong forum. So, I picked up the Kenner Alien from a toyshop in Croydon when I was twelve and haven't looked back since.

I love the first two movies, collecting and building props, & made the world's first USCM guitar! I love big, mean prop guns & am currently building a Bazookoid from Red Dwarf.

Is that okay, boss?

Hi All,

I'm Andy, 34 yrs old and I live in (supposedly sunny) Devon in the South West corner of the UK with my lovely partner, Karyn.

I like most forms of science fiction/fantasy, favourites include;
Blake's 7, Firefly, Babylon 5, Space 1999 (season1) and Planet of the Apes.

Star Wars was a favourite, but the new movies have slightly tarnished the enjoyment.

I like all the Alien movies, The first one fascinates, the second excites, the third makes me ponder, the fourth makes me sleep!! :)

I hope to get to know you all better.

Cheers,

Andy

P.S.

The name and avatar of 'clanger68' are for the benefit of Karyn, the Clangers were a childrens favourite in the late 60's/early 70's and she REALLY likes them. :)
