The NSC was my first drop wearing armour and to be fair it was not bad at all except for the leg armour. It kept sliding down and i could feel it snagging on my boots. Checking the armour afterwards i can see where it began to flex. does anyone have any ingenious ideas or methods to prevent this? I was thinking of attaching velcro to my bdus and armour but would like to consider it as the last resort.

I can't say I've ever had that problem. Do you have skinny calves?

Velcro was my only idea. Maybe someone else has a better way of doing it.

Same happened to me with my 1st greaves but they were MAA and fibreglass

How about lining them with something like those rubber grip mats people use on their car dashboard, they may grip the material of your BDUs and stop slipping whilst adding some padding.

Are the straps slipping loose of the buckles? Are you cinching them tight enough?

I used to have a similar issue. My armor is Spat-made, and all his stuff is a bit "wide" for me, so they slid down and sat on the top of my boots, and would occasionally rub against each other when I walked. I ended up taking a hair dryer and heating up the plastic on the bends, and adjusting it in to be thinner, then sheared off some of the excess plastic from the edges in order to pull the straps tighter. After that, I got some of that padding you put under rugs to prevent them from sliding across the floor, and attached it to the insides of the grieves. Now the armor fits much tighter and does not slide around at all.

Thanks for the replies everryone, I think the idea of the rubber grip mats/ rug padding is a great idea and I think that will probably do the job just right. Now where is it best to get them from - I only have tomorrow (or should I now say today) to go out and get them. I think I seen them dashboard grips for sale in a poundland? somewhere?

The greaves are MAA and don't fit as they should as they dont close enough. My spat greaves close better but the straps pull out of the clips easily. I did not like to pull them harder in case I break or damage the greaves. I guess I should jog around the block a few more times

For the Spat ones, adjust the straps to where they're tight, but not too tight and then put a dab of hot glue on the strap where it meets the buckle. That will lock it in position. Unless your legs change size too much or you want someone else to wear them, they're good for you. And later you can always peel the glue off to re-adjust.

I secured the straps all over my armor by doubling them over, and wrapping them in tape.

The tape/glue is a good idea for the straps. Many a time have the clips fallen off when im about to do them up. Can be annoying lol.

I managed to get some of those tray mats that you put your plate on to stop them slipping so will try them out at the next drop to see if they prevent my greaves sliding down.

On an old, first been set of Spat's shins I made two Velcro cuffs with metal grommets in them.then I laced the cuffs into the top of my boss and flies some Velcro into the bottom lip of my shin armor and after you put them on, the armor covers the Velcro cuffs and the Velcro held the armor in place. No more slipping.
