Looking good,Dom. Suppose I'll have to keep my "Frost" bag away from you
Plan on mounting a sling? I like how it breaks down into two main pieces. Is this what you'll take to Dcon this year?

I'll be using a quick-sling for now... I may add some sling swivels in the future. I definitely will be bringing it to DCon... Alas, it's the Canadian marine's weapon while out of country.

The threaded aluminum barrel comes courtesy of vonPredator... thanks pal!

Nice build Dom! :D

So... how long will she remain pristine before you decide to 'weather' the 'ol girl? ;)

hey dom that looks great! any WIP pics?

NO, HAHA! I normally take dozens of photos during WIP, but for this one, I was in such a crunch to complete it, I didn't think of doing it. To cue you in to the little secrets, the interior of the bottle has a fiberglass patch to reinforce it...... and it's made around a 710 ml Diet Pepsi bottle... the whole kit has TONS of Bondo over it (it wasn't terribly clean)......including the pistol grip itself that had to be partially reconsructed... the pistol receiver and main body were snapped in half (perhaps during transit) and had to be repaired...

As for weathering, well I have a system. I normally wait until my stuff gets dinged and then I pass a silver marker over the scratches. Besides, I am not a HUGE fan of weathering.

Anyway, it was fun nonetheless to put it together... thanks to Model Shop Guy for sending it to me.

Flame on!

Dom, who was the creator of this? I love how it all screws together, should make for easy storage and transport.

Post subject:  Re: Cpl Beaudoin, ready to support troops with incindiary!

That was all my idea, of course... I cut a 1 1/4" hole in the bottom of the unit and jammed a bottle cap in it, afterwards the bottle became the frame for my fuel tank. The barrel comes courtesy of vonPpredator; it screws into a threaded aluminum block which is hot-glued into the unit itself.

The original idea was ease of transport... nifty, huh?

BTW, has anyone noticed the creative use of miniature popsicle sticks?

Dom, that kicks ass! I'm working on one of those kits (from Wilco models) right now. Your thread has inspired me to get it done ASAP!!;)

Nice work.

I wish I'd thought of the breakdown/thread idea when putting mine together.

That is awesome - a real beauty!!

Glad to see that the Rod/Nut worked out well.

Believe me guys, I saw the tank in it's rough stages an I was thinking.. "I don't know man... " But look at that! You could even fill it with Diet Pepsi at the CON! :)

Nice job there bro! Happy to help!

Sweet! :D

The aluminum barrel is uber-cool!

And yeah- I'd like to see it weathered as well. ;) :)

"I know I'm human. And if you were all these things, then you'd just attack me right now, so some of you are still human. This thing doesn't want to show itself, it wants to hide inside an imitation. If it takes us over, then it has no more enemies, nobody left to kill it. And then it's won."

I do Dom. Maybe it's the the soldier in me but I like my weapons to be clean with the correct finishing. I was also a Weapons Tech (Land) Gun Plumber in the Canadian army & I like my weapons to be serviceable. Yeah, I know that's not screen accurate but that's my 2 cents.
