The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Way to go Shock Wave! I'm going to look through the early Dark Horse series (the ones with Hicks and Newt) in case they have any more. I used to have the novels but they're long gone now.

I wasn't sure if you wanted EU material or not, but since you posted the Dark Horse material, there's a whole bunch of planets listed in the Aliens RPG. I can only remember a few, Dustball, Eyesore, but those names and a few more border on the ridiculous.

Well, I added the RPG names to the list, but I agree with Dropship Bob. Some of those names are painful. Still, the list is decidedly comprehensive.

What, you don't think a corporation would spend millions of dollars terraforming a planet and then name it Stoner 1?? 8)

This list makes my nerd-brain very happy indeed.

Does the name imply that there's a Stoner II?

Well if you go by the reprints that the novels were based on (where Hicks was Wilks and Newt was Billie so as not to clash with Alien 3) there was a colony named Rim which played host to a xeno infestation and subsequent bug hunt. Also a planet called Ferro (not to be confused with the dropship pilot).

Area 52 - bug hunt - Aliens vs Predator (1999)
Calpamos - Alien
DS-949 (space station) - Predator hunt - Aliens: Berserker
Fantasia - Aliens: Criminal Enterprise
Felicity - -Predator hunt - Predator: Flesh and Blood
Innominata (space station, Earth orbit) - Aliens: Labyrinth
LV-223 - Prometheus
LV-742 - bug hunt - Aliens versus Predator: Extinction
Kawlang - Alien: Resurrection
Korari - Predator hunt - Aliens vs Predator 2
Midnight - Predator hunt - Predator: Forever Midnight
Odobenus Station (space station, LV-426 orbit) - bug hunt - Aliens vs Predator (1999)
USS Golgotha (space station) - bug hunt - Alien vs Predator for Atari Jaguar
Vega 4 - Alien vs Predator (1993)

Calpamos - Alien

From what I can gather this is a kind of 'bad penny' in the Alien community, because it regularly appears without citation. I don't mind adding it as a fan made addition, but I would need citation for crediting it.

Meanwhile, keep 'em coming. Note: I've made a separate category for 'space stations'. Thoughts?

I wasn't aware of any stigma attached to Calpamos (I never even heard about it before digging through Xenopedia's planets category). Don't know what to do about it.

Should we include the Spat Cave's Almayer' Folly? XD

Almayer's Folley would be a great addition. I could list it with the list with a citation like this...

Almayer's Folley - Fan made world by Spat Cave

Almayer's Folly is a base on Cetii Epsilon IV:
http://www.spatcave.com/almayer.htm

The name comes from a Joseph Conrad story which makes me really happy.

If we're adding fan-made planets then we have to include Copurnicus:

This thread is slowly evolving to 'locations' in the Aliens Universe'. I've added Almayer's Folly with credit given to Spatman and Copernicus to Mike Fanara. Keep 'em comin'.

Alien: Isolation has added some new planet names!

Procyon
Groombridge 34
Alpha Ceti
Capella
Delta Pavonis
Canopus
Arcturus

That last one isn't new, but it's always fun to see pop up.

EDIT: left off "Barnard's Star" and "Ross 154" (thanks Quarax!)

Thanks Quarax! I was going off someone else's (incomplete) screengrab. I've made very little headway in the game myself...

Very nice work, all! and YellowJacket for compiling! I enjoy these projects myself and appreciate the "blood, sweat, and tears" that go into them. I think adding citations is excellent, since the ALIEN universe is getting so large and the mix of on-screen, novelization, and fan-based entries is intricate. I like being able to see where the name comes from so I can do some reading I might have missed. Thanks!

Just picked up the new Aliens/Predator/Prometheus/AVP series called Fire and stone and according to the story, LV-223 is right next to LV-426, and 223 is now a jungle planet with a breathable atmossphere

Which just goes to show how the Alien universe works best as a buffet style meal. I'm allergic to LV-223, so I'll skip it and take a double helping of Ryushi instead.

There's canon and then there's really murky, muddy water. Jungle swamp water. I sometimes imagine that Alien and Predator related meetings go something like this...

Executive: "So we need to make some more money off of the franchise. What product can we release without regard to content or canon?"

Insert random creative forces dishing out ideas with complete disregard to previous materials.

...annnnnnd scene.

'I'm allergic to LV-223' needs to be on a t-shirt.

I only just realize 'Gateway Station' wasn't listed in the stations section. Sometimes we miss the obvious ones.

I think DSB meant what happened to that fan film. I know I'd love to see it completed!
