The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

After reading Jonsey the Cat's transcription of the ICC files on the Nostromo crew (viewtopic.php?f=3&t=11798), I wanted to compile a list of all the planets from the Aliens Universe, especially ones that Marines might have visited. I'm thinking of writing a few on my helmet cover.

So here's what I have so far:

-------------------------------------------

Alien:
Thedus Stand Up Fight
LV-426
Kellerat (LB-329) [not screen used]
Torin Prime [not screen used] Stand Up Fight

Aliens:
Arcturus (Frost's comment in the mess hall) Stand Up Fight / Bug Hunt?
Cetii Epsilon IV (Drake's t-shirt) Stand Up Fight
JVC-8 Titan
Beta Lyrae 7
Titan Drydock 14
Eta Draconics BN-4
GBH-45
Delos
LNB-14
Caput Trianguli
Solomons CT
Gateway Island
Pluto
Mars (ICC Engineering Trade School and Brilecki University have campuses there)

Alien3:
Fiorina 161

Dark Horse Comics:
Ryushi (original AvP miniseries) Bug Hunt

-------------------------------------------

Please discuss, and feel free to argue for the exclusion of any of these (Solomons CT and Gateway Island for example).

Yellowjacket: Thanks for sharing these, I hadn't seen this page before! Do I understand correctly that these are "fan made" through the Prometheus website (as opposed to being created by either the Prometheus production crew or the web development company)? I don't mean this in a negative way, the Technical Manual is "fan made" after all, I just want to be sure I understand the origin of these planets.

I am intrigued by the idea that 60 planets would be colonized by the time of Prometheus. That's more than I would have expected for that time period.
Thanks for sharing these, I hadn't seen this page before!

I'm actually not sure. I just typed up the list from the links on each planet. I believe they're all based on exo-stellar planets as seen on this list...

Might be worthwhile listing these ones too, especially the third one:

Mercury
venus
Earth
Mars
Jupiter
Saturn
Uranus
Neptune
Pluto

Doesn't Call say something aboyt having never visited Earth before, whereupon Ripley says she's a stranger there too? Stands to reason that quite a few folks (like Newt) would never have been to any of these, either...

You know what might be more fun than an all inclusive list of everything (not trying to take away from the 'master list' which is a cool idea), is a list of confirmed "combat theaters".

Especially for a list to put on your armor/helmet cover, places where you 'saw action' would be more fitting than places simply visited.

If I saw some good 'action' at the bar, I know I wouldn't have any problem commemorating it on my armor!

Ttaskmaster: Totally! I'd bet Weyland perfected his terraforming technology in the solar system before venturing further. I did mention Pluto, Mars and Jupiter's moon Titan as these are all "canon" locations of colonies/outposts. Our own moon should go on that list too though, especially with the Prometheus info. I have heard second hand that Ripley's backstory in Alien had her being born on Luna as well.
Whether Newt had ever been to Earth is an interesting question though since the Acheron colony had been terraforming for 20 years and Newt was 6. When would colonists have arrived? Was she born on the planet? Was she born en route (as one of the comics stated IIRC)?
Bigbisont: I agree, I want a list of combat theaters, not where I spent my R&R. Making a notation next to the planet's name (especially if the battle has been given a name) would be helpful. Pretty much every planet Lee created is a battle zone, but we also have Cetii Epsilon IV as our one true canonical battle zone, and Torin Prime (from Dallas and Parker's back stories) was a war zone prior to the events of Alien. I'd say it still is since it's more fun that way.
Earth is one, but that seems boring to put on a helmet. Luckily Ridley invented the future sandbox country of Iranistan, so that could be listed.

Arcturus has the best, um, you-know-what, if you don't mind it being male!

You could also take a cue from the longstanding tradition of putting the bases and places visited on a duffle bag.

Does anyone know where O'Neill station was located? It's not a planet but its certainly a population hub for the corp.
Just a thought ;)

Are we thinking a map of worlds like the one put together from all the stories of Star Wars?

I wasn't sure if you wanted EU material or not, but since you posted the Dark Horse material, there's a whole bunch of planets listed in the Aliens RPG. I can only remember a few, Dustball, Eyesore, but those names and a few more border on the ridiculous.

"List them all and let the Engineers sort them out."

Seriously though, if everything is given a source then folks can pick what fits their comfort level.
DH: Dark Horse Comics
VG: Video Game
RPG: Role Playing Game (Leading Edge)
TM: Technical Manual
OW: Official Website (the Prometheus/Weyland websites for example)

I'm also going to note in red if the planet has had either a Stand Up Fight or a Bug Hunt.

The list is a lot bigger than I first expected (127+). I added a few more, such as Olympia, Skyfire Down and Konor Minor from the Legacy DVD crew bios, Motinea from the Alien3 novelization and Xarem from Alien:Resurrection. Then I reordered them to reflect common usage names first and scientific designations second.

Fantastic job Yellowjacket! I think you've just inherited the guardianship of this list 8)
I will continue to work through the Technical Manual and post them, but if you wouldn't mind adding them to your color-coded masterpiece it would be great.
One quick note: Kellerat and Torin Prime were both derived from the Alien Legacy crew bios, so if you want to remove my "not screen used" notation I'd be much obliged.

One last one from the Technical Manual:

Lucien 411 AKA "Lucifer"

Page 82 has what I'm assuming is a typo where a planet is named Linna 309 yet throughout the book (including further down the same page) it is listed as Linna 349.

Page 107 has the only reference to Arcturus, mentioning the tactics of guerrillas during the Arturan War (thereby making it a Stand Up Fight).

If anyone else feels like combing through the TM in case I missed something I'd be much obliged, but I think I got them all.

Are there any more sources out there?

Aliens: Infestation also implies that the fighting on Linna 349 may have been part of the Tientsin Campaign as well.
