The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Has anyone done the background slides of the Nostromo crew that is playing behind Ripley while she is getting ripped by the board?

Is is possible to get copies? I have an old pc and monitor. I would like to set the photos as screen saver mode and just let them cycle in my office.

Just had a look; there's several screens of text for each character and the text scrolls up the screen quite fast, so it's difficult to get better pics than those posted and also which bit to choose to grab?

The sequence is badly cropped too, with the FILE CASE: CLOSED for a couple almost off the bottom of the screen.

Have taken pics of the initial text for each character and will post a link here once they're uploaded to Dropbox. :)

Here ya go:

I cropped the outer bits of my TV from them. They're all 3524x2068, so will need resizing/pasting on your monitor's res-sized blank images to fit. 8)

Here's a smaller jpg of one:

Someone with a blu ray drive in their PC could get a slightly better quality set though. :)

Jonsey, I hate to point this out, but since you went through so much work to get it accurate...on page two you for Brett's record you have the info on the Nostromo at the top and have it's registration number as 180924509 when it should be 180924609.

Please forgive the nit-pick, what you did is really wonderfull!

Hey Jonsey,
after reading this the whole way through I am dying to know if Ron Cobb did write it, and I'm very curious how it compares to the character bios Ridley prepared for the actors in Alien.

Damn I can't wait to read your finished report!

 Absolutely no problem. You are most welcome. I stared on the screens to my eyes bled. Actually now after this document has gone official feel free to comment any mistakes. I can tell you some of those numbers was almost impossible to interpret.

We know that Cobb was responsible for on screen data in other films and as IRRC he did the wake up screen on Sulaco so there is not room for to many others in the production. Besides it must be some one in the higher top of the production to get the names like producers, Cameron movies, the university's, and Giger into it. Cobb was also the only one in Scotts Alien who contemplated the world as this is one of his favorite subjects when inventing Scifi according to himself. He was also behind the Bug Stompers in Aliens. So playing with the huge amount of numbers, numericals, as we see both in the Wake up Screen with Marine ID's and on interior set we can only assume that its him. The detail of story could be Cameron's but I feel that he would not spend that much time on this being busy with the production, especially not the gibberish with the numbers.

The actual Report will show up here as I have dedicated it to the forum, but then I have made comments about putting it here the last 5 years on now, so who knows. After the Blue ray and the new alien book (and some other stuff) there is a complete re-haul of 80-100 A4 pages (illustrations included) that takes lots of spare time and dedication that I don't have any longer. Problem is to try to get all the notes and a massive list of sources together. It has been down for some 10 months now so I figured why not upload some of the research material used so you can have some fun yourself. Especially since it was up on issue here.

Many thanks for your comments. btw. It always feels good to be able to present some canon fuel for our ever thirsty imagination of the Aliens universe.

/ Jonsey

I am coming in very late in this game, so to speak, but couldn't pass by without leaving a comment and thanks for the work that went into compiling this list. I enjoy doing these same projects myself and appreciate it!
