Our very own Sidewinder made a Sentry Gun:
IIRC, the Sentry Guns were indeed built around an MG42 but with different ammo drums - MG08/15, I think.

OK....construction on my fully functional NERF sentry gun has begun...yes, that's right FULLY FUNCTIONAL and NERF ! The concept/design is to have an oscillating reproduction of the UA 571-C from "Aliens" with remote on/off for the oscillation and a separate button to arm the firing mechanism. The unit will have a built in directional PIR to detect body heat and when it picks up a heat signature it will stop oscillating and open fire at the heat source. I forgot to mention that the Nerf gun has been extensively modified also....air restrictor removed, 6 X spring fitted and it's now running on 12v instead of 7.2v so it fires MUCH quicker than standard ...It really packs a punch !....as you could probably tell by my reaction LOL

Okay: between your amazing sentry gun and Marsattacks' fantastic prop work I think the Australian Marines need to consider making a fan film. I bet you guys have some unbelievable locations for alien worlds too. |
