The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I think this pic shows that webbing attached to the top of the back:

Then a separate webbing starting at the top of the back goes through the loop at the other end of the shoulder webbing and clips onto the chest at the point in your first pic.

Holy smokes! I've never seen that website before. Awesome resource. Darren is a lucky dude to have that armor, but it is really cool that he took such detailed photos of the construction. I'll be bookmarking that one.

What kind of armor do you have?

Screen used armor has small nugget armor pieces between the front and back.

Does this help?

I don't believe Spat's kit has these.

Thanks for the help guys! That site is Awesome very usefull. I builted my own with using paperkura and loots of resin and fiberglass. Everything is finished exept that I need to put it together. And yes I've got small nugget armor pieces between the front and back.
Noble thanks for the drawing.

Scapey Could you please make a picture about the armour upside down or a different angle so i could see how the joints of the parts looks like.
This is the front and back armour and the stage of it about a month ago.

Not sure if this will help but here are some pics of my armour, the strap you were asking about on the shoulder parts needs to be cut its to long then folded and stiched into a loop for the chest/back plate straps to feed through

(edited to be more clear)

If he's got the 'nuggets' then that strap is still needed, but will wrap around onto a nugget.

See an amended/titled version of the pic I linked to above for how I think it's connected up on TE armour:

I dont mean to foggy up what was clear, but something just occured to me about that use of that insert.

Take a look at the shot of the inside Dietrich's armor on the Harry Harris page- http://www.harryharris.com/dcopen.htm The buckle/flap half insert is there, but the other side appears to simply join both halves direct.

Being that the armor was tailored to each actor, I think its perfectly logical that bigger marines had gaps between the two halves necessitating an insert, and perhaps smaller ones (like Dietrich) were just strait joined. Which leads me to conclude a direct joining of halves is still 100% accurate. Use of that insert is simply at the discretion of the builder/marine to achieve the best fit.

(EDIT: Or it could be that on that particular "stunt" set they just wanted as few moving/shifting parts as possible and left it out. Who knows...)
