Hi guys,
was thinking about this during one of my long driving trips with work earlier this week so where did we all see various Aliens Franchise films? Sorry if this has been done before I did do a quick search but didn't find anything.

Soto start the ball rolling;

Alien on TV (To young for Big Screen)

Alien Resurrection on video I think (The Mind Bleach ALMOST Worked!)

ALIEN:- Home with my Father.
ALIENS: Cinema (3times first day of release) several times over, at time of release.
ALIEN 3: Cinema at time of release.
ALIEN Resurrection: Cinema at time of release.

PREDATOR: Cinema (twice day of release) several times over, at time of release.
PREDATOR 2: Cinema several times over, at time of release.
PREDATORS: Cinema.

AVP: Cinema several times over, at time of release ( I like it :p ).
AVP: Requiem: Cinema TWICE, at time of release (again I like it :D ).

Alien- Home on tv (waaaay too young to see an R rated film as I was 9 in '79). Probably in 1981 or 82 as it took a couple of years for films to run on tv back then.

Aliens- Again home on a vhs rental around 1987. Funny thing- in 1988 I was able to watch it on the big screen when it played in the theater of the Canadian Forces Base (Borden) I happened to be staying at one weekend while I was an Air Cadet.

A3- Theater: 1992.

A:Res- Theater: 1997 (unfortunately)

AvP- Theater: 2004 (VERY unfortunately)

AvP:R- haven't watched it to this day.

Predator- Theater: 1987.

Predator 2- Theater: 1990.

Predators- dvd rental: last year :wink: .

Alien: Had the part just before Kane explodes on VHS taped off the TV...never saw the first hour or so until much later

Aliens: Sneaked the VHS copy out of my brothers collectors pack (one with the facehugger case) but upo0n seeing the queen on the cover I was too scared to actually watch it. Not sure where I did see it first off.

Alien 3: VHS from that same collectors pack much later....I think.

Resurrection: Borrowed a friends DVD to watch it.

Alien VHS- After seeing Aliens and falling in love
Aliens VHS-(Born in 84 so was to young to see it in theaters) However finally saw it in theaters at the new beverly 25th anniversary thanks to randy for the info on this
Alien 3- Northridge, CA 1 dollar ticket theater. Then again on VHS

Alien - drive-in theater, Miracle Mile in Pontiac, MI. Followed "Empire Strikes Back" as the second feature film that evening. It was raining, and my folks decided to leave 1/2 way through the movie.

Aliens - VHS. Tried to get in the theater with my brother and cousins, but it was rated R, and we ended up seeing "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" instead.

Alien3 - second year at the Academy, can't remember if I saw it on tape in one of the dayrooms or in the Theater on liberty.

Alien Resurrection - in the theater. Girlfriend at the time hated it.

Predator - on tape. Blown away! I had no idea it had to do with an alien.

Predator 2 - on VHS tape

AVP - DVD

AVP:R - only saw snippets on cable

Alien - Probably on TV, though I can't remember. I saw it a year or two after I saw Aliens. I saw the Director's Cut at the cinema.
Aliens - On a friends portable TV a couple of years after it came out. I was 15 when it came out, and with it being an 18 there was no way I could see it at the cinema.
Alien 3 - Cinema
Alien Resurrection - Cinema
Predator - At that same friends house where I saw Aliens (and also The Terminator, though I saw T2 at the cinema)
Predator 2 - I think I might have seen it at the cinema, but I can't remember. It might have been the TV.
AvP - Cinema
Avp:R - Cinema
Predators - Download. I was about to go to the cinema to see it, but the one I go to must have just stopped the cheaper "Early Bird" tickets for "before 12:00" showings, so I downloaded it instead.
Prometheus - 10 days to go, though I will now have to wait an extra day until Saturday, as I'm not on holiday on the Friday any more (visiting my first Nephew - 3 weeks old now, so he took priority).

My parents ceremoniously sat me down to watch Alien when I was ten years old. I was hooked. My Dad and I took off to see Aliens during my mom's baby shower for my brother. All the films have pretty much become a family favorite, but especially the first two.

Same, same. Caught Alien at the Cinema 1 in Marin Co. (home of Lucas's ILM) on widescreen, which was the only theater in the area that had it back then, after months of anticipation. Fox managed to keep a pretty tight lid on the media so no pics the creature were leaked in any of the popular fanzines I was constantly reading back then. Only a handful of movies had ever creeped me out like that before, but I sure didn't sleep too well that night! I saw Aliens when it opened in Japan. Made the mistake of taking a girl to see it and still bear the scars from her fingernails digging into my arm all through the last half of the movie! (THAT was our last date, btw!) LOL :mrgreen:

I read Foster's novelization of Aliens around the same time and wondered why the sentry guns and other cool stuff weren't in the original release, then was blown away when I found the extended edition at a video rental shop here in Japan a year or so later. Tried to find a copy of it in the states but nobody had even heard of it, so it was a couple of more years before I was finally able to buy a copy of it without Japanese subtitles on it. Those missing twenty minutes were pure gold!

I saw Alien 3 and Resurrection on the big screen as well, but don't remember as vividly as the first two, which are at the top of the list of my most favorite movies of all time.

I'll be honest, I don't really know. I think I probably saw them originally on tv at one point or another, then had to see them on dvd or video to see the whole thing. I've yet to see any of them in the theater.

ALIEN:- VHS at my brother's home... and then I could not get it out of my head ;-)... had to see it again and again...
ALIENS: TV, then VHS recorded (again and again), then Director's Cut on Laser Disc, finally bought Boxed set.
ALIEN 3: DVD (was not interested and I always delayed due to bad scores).
ALIEN Resurrection: Cinema at time of release.

PREDATOR: Laser Disc.
PREDATOR 2: DVD.
PREDATORS: Cinema.

AVP: Cinema.
AVP: Cinema but unsure.
