I won this on eBay a few weeks ago.
cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220111161917
They have it listed as an AvP item, but when I received it, it was clearly marked as having been made for Alien3! Not that it bothered me, and it would explain why I got it so cheap. Not bad for a quick costume, although the chest buster itself is a little "squished" from, I assume, having been stored under whoknowswhat for all these years.
Anyone have a sugestion on how to make it more 3D again?

I assume it is hollow, right? Could you carefully push it out and then fill it with spray expanding foam?

For Dcon last year I rigged a balloon with rubber tubing and compressed air for my "Kill Me" tshirt. Very simple. Very funny. It would make it look a little animated. The key is to leave a small hole for the air to leak out so you can control the movement.

I maded two of these for the guys that are running the booth at comic con this year. They glue or velcro inside of a ripped shirt with some fake blood added.

That's cool Mortal, did you sculpt them?

WG, it is indeed hollow. I can push it out from the inside, but when I remove my hand, it collapses. I need to have something inside to keep it's shape and then I suppose I could fill it with expanding foam or similar. It's been sitting all these years squished, so it doesn't want to pop back to it's original shape.

Maybe if I heat it with some hot water that will cause it to take it's original shape?

I had the same problem with a pouch on my Jedi cstume past year and hot water sorted it out.

But it'll only stay in shape for a short while, then revert back to the shape it was, so needs filling as soon as poss after warming in hot water for a few mins.

Perhaps filling it with something a little less permanent than foam? A couple old socks rolled up or a bandanna might do the trick.

That's a good idea.

@The Mortal Immortal: Are those latex, or resin? Looks nice either way.
