The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

As you may know, there is a font out there called 'Alien League'. It seems to be based on the Aliens logo. Whenever anybody asks what the font is from the Aliens logo, they are directed to Alien League. This has always been a bit of a pet peeve, since not only does it not look like the Aliens logo but it is also quite badly done.

Therefore I took it upon myself to do a proper one. I spent time drawing up a full character set to match the logo, plus punctuation etc. I don't recommend you do your next essay in it, but it does make striking titles.

Oh, I had to give it a name so (with permission) I named it after the board: Aliens Legacy. I think it fits nicely (and the similarity to Alien League is pure coincidence).

It is a Truetype font, should work on PC and Mac, and is free. You can download it here.

Please let me know if there are any problems, or other comments.

I did a letter by letter comparison of the two fonts, and Mike's is a COMPLETELY new font.

Thanks again Mike!

Thanks guys. Russ, you'd better believe it - I don't even have a copy of Alien League!

So anyway, because that font is quite thin and hard to read, I made a slightly wider version.

It is also a Truetype font, should work on PC and Mac, and is free. You can now download them both here.

Thank you Mike, and it's very cool that you've named the font after the board. I love the secret character by the way; nice one!

Perhaps I should have said 'Easter eggs' instead. Try typing your email address and you'll see.

Mike, I'd like to replace the font I have on the colonialmarines.net site with this.
Of course proper credit shall be given to you, naturally ;)

Let me know if this is OK. Thanks

Fine with me, Tony! Just, you know, use it sparingly.

And don't stretch it! I hate that.
