The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

No updates for a while man, how's the armour going? Or you taking a well deserved break :D

Washers arrived today so I'll be getting on with finishing the strapping later. If I have chance I'll get it all done by this evening. Give it a day for the glue to dry and I might have pics up tomorrow.

Just realised the clips I ordered are 20mm instead of 25mm like I need. Can't do any more strapping on the armour now.
Pics of the finished armour won't be posted until after Easter.

Well I had a test fitting today and I now know what parts need to be altered. Problems with the shoulders, shins, side straps.
Helmet isn't finished either.
I'm also missing the shoulder lamp. I just haven't put it together.
So here's some quick pictures. I was going to do some photoshop wizardry, but it's decided not to work properly today.

Nice job indeed, especially with what you started with. 8)

Can I ask what BDU's you are wearing with it?
Are they the normal Polish (woodland?) ones, not the recommended Polish Desert ones?

Only asking because IMHO the armour gets a bit lost, and doesn't stand out so well, when the BDU's are so similar in colour.

Maybe you could really fade them, but hey that's only my opinion.

Martin

Yeah it's polish woodland BDU's. I can see the armour doesn't stand out as well as it would have against the desert camo. Ah well, too late now.

Looks great!!! I sort of liek the armor not standing out as much, it is a unique look and you don't look so "clean" sometimes it seems like the MAA BDU's are so light ath our marines look like they just came out of the wash.

I would also imagine that Marines in 2179 don't always wear the same fatigues. They would change for the environment I woulda thought? (Even the modern digi cam has more than one shade for different terrain, and that silly new Britrish one isn't worn in jugnles, for example)

I have to say, I just read through all of this thread and your PR thread and you are a goddamned hero. As someone who is nervously waiting for a resin pulse rifle to arrive, your step by step guide (horror show and all) makes me feel a lot more confident that I can actually do this. Thanks mate!

I want to thank EVERYONE that posted in this thread and offered great feedback and positive messages.
I'm actually sad the build is over. Even though I had some issues it was still fun putting it all together. It's still not finished as the hemet isn't completed and I haven't put the shoulder lamp together yet. I might do another build thread on the shoulder lamp.

Again, thanks to everyone who posted or even just looked at the thread.
