I went to place an order for more plastic for the next batch of armor, and the price of the plastic has jumped again. For those that don't know, plastic is a Petroleum product, so whenever the price of gas goes up, the price of plastic things goes up as well. And since my armor is about 85% plastic (maybe more, since the only parts not plastic are the helmet and the rivets, everything else is in some way made from plastics), the cost of the armor has to go up as well.
I hate to do it. In over 5 years I've only had to raise the price twice, the first time was a little over a year ago.
So, as of July 1st, 2007 the price will jump by $50 to $600 per suit plus shipping. The cost of the helmets by themselves will stay the same, since that's the part that uses the least amount of plastics.
I'm giving everyone a month to get used to the idea, since I know there's a couple of people on the board who were pretty close to saving up for armor and I didn't want to screw them when they were just about to place the order.
Again, sorry to have to do this. Please don't hate me.
And obviously, any order placed before July 1st will get the current price, any order placed on, or after July 1st will pay the new price.
