The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I get it from Monster Makers (www.monstermakers.com), and I assume they'll ship it overseas. Call them, their number is on the website. Arnold and his crew should be able to help you out.

Basically, it's just a clear, gloss latex which is used to make things look wet, fresh or slimy.

Hope that helps!

I've been told that acrylic gloss sealer would also do the trick.

Yup, I used Krylon Triple-thick Glaze, and it worked fine. However, I have heard that Perma-wet is the Mutts and I am also on the lookout.

When I priced it at monstermakers and added P&P and close on 30% UK import tax, the cost made me cry.

Any idea how much would be required for a full-body suit?

Guys, look for a product called "Isoflex".

Biiig hoo-ha in the LARP community about ten years ago when one of the game organisers let slip the secret of his armourer's sword making!
It's a roofing sealant, and was used then for sealing latex swords with a shiny, tough, yet clear and flexible outer layer.

I've heard that one-32 oz. container of perma-wet should be enough for one suit.

Isoflex eh? Hmmm..sounds interesting! I'll google that up and see what I can find. But is it safe to use on latex?

I found that you can get Isoflex Special Primer 750ml
Prepares roof surfaces for waterproofing Tough durable basecoat. for £15.99

Thats pretty good! I take it its the Primer that I would need? There are a few different products supplied by this company..

Armor all
works well. It even helps to preserve the latex.
I assume that other car interior cleaners would work pretty good as well.

Armor All = Silicone Spray? Used to shine/preserve vinyl and rubber inside cars?

I use that. It makes it nice and shiny but evaporates quite quick.

Over on the Halloween Mask forum they discourage the use of Armor All on latex masks. It works for a quick fix, but in the long run it hurts the latex.
